Profile: After spending his early career under a different ring name playing up his resemblance to Tom Selleck, Stroker Ace got his big break when he was signed by WCWF to capitalize on the popularity of another mustachioed hearthrob: Burt Reynolds. His gimmick is a that of cocky ladies man and Georgia race car driver, inspired by the movie he takes his name from. The fans found this amusing at first, but began to tire of it leading to Stroker's recent heel turn.

Robbie Atkinson

Role:

Commentator (color)
Years Active: 1984-present
Real World Analogy: Bobby Heenan (vaguely)

Profile: A big, bearded brawler from rural Texas. An star athelete in high school, he was an indifferent student and barely had the grades for an athletic scholarship. He took up wrestling after he was kicked off his college football team for being too rough with his teammates in practice. His toughness and wild brawls quickly made him a fan favorite in the Texas territories and Puerto Rico. Barton's only title reign thusfar ended in a famously bloody cage match against fellow Texan Jake Blackheart. Years Active: 1977-present
Real World Analogy: Bad News Brown + "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd
Profile: A former NFL lineman, Bearden started off as a street-tough loner who doesn't feel the need to play by the rules. He eventually made a deal with "Million Dollar" Stan Trump as part of a failed attempt to win the World Heavyweight Title. He came to regret the arrangement, especially when Trump expected Bearden to tangle with The Jolly Green Giant. Trump sought to punish Bearden, but Eddie found an ally in Porkchop Jones. His career ended in a memorable Loser-Leaves-Town Match with Jimmy Blast. His son, John, is reportedly training to follow in his father's footsteps.

Profile: Jimmy Blast hails from the Midwest, but wrestles more of a Southern style. He can brawl when he has to and packs some of the nastiest chops in the business, but he prefers to wrestle patient, technical matches. Blast started out in the Mid-Atlantic indys, but was soon snatched up WCWF who recognized him as prodigy. He's got all the tools inside the ropes any wrestler could ask for. Profile:

Massimo immigrated with his family late in chilhood, and got into a lot of trouble as a teenager in New York's Little Italy that earned him his nickname ("Mean"). Not academicly inclined nor athletically gifted, what he did have was an incredible drive and work ethic (and a fierce pride in his Italian heritage). If not for wrestling, he might have ended up an enforcer for the Italian Mafia. Instead, inspired by Mario Mancini, Massimo worked hard to become a wrestler and made his way way up the card through the 1970s. Mancini became a mentor, both kayfabe and real life. Rumor has it he was going to turn on his mentor, setting up a huge main event for Showdown at Shea 1980. Plans changed due to The Ayatollah's Reign of Terror. Massimo got several World Title matches with The Ayatollah, but he could never quite manage to win. Although he remained popular in the northeast as heir to the Mancini legacy, Massimo because frustrated by his seemingly stalled career.

In the fall of 1984, Massimo's frustration boiled over and he brutally attacked both Rick Samson and a referee after being DQ'd in a match for the TV Title. He subsequently cut a scathing promo about getting mean and being his own man instead of who other people want him to be. Since then Massimo has been a unique chaotic force in WCWF. He won the TV Title then tried to sell it to Stan Trump. Massimo attacked Mancini at an awards presentation then beat him at Wrestlemania I. Massimo took out Jimmy Blast at Fall Brawl '85 in a failed bid to gain the US Title that lead to attacks on other contenders for the title, and sometimes seemingly random wrestlers. At The Wrestling Classic, Massimo delivered "The Chairshot Heard 'Round The World" when he laid out The Jolly Green Giant.

Real World Analogy: Mickey Rourke's character in "The Wrestler"
Profile:

Randy came from a working-class background in New Jersey, something he plays up in his promos but somewhat resents in real life. When he turned 18, left behind his given name (Robin Ramzinski) and hitchiked to Southern California to make a new life for himself. Robinson used his size to be a bouncer and bodyguard. He got his nickname when he used a headbutt to knock a guy out in a bar fight (alledgedly while wearing a Los Angeles Rams jersey). Robinson trained as a boxer before turning to wrestling. When WCWF acquired the Midwest territory he was working for, it brought "The Ram" home to the New York City area. There he finally did the seemingly impossible by ending The Ayatollah's "reign of terror."

Robinson has been a legitmate "people's champion" and had a solid run as world champion. He lost the title to Bulk Logan at the first Wrestlemania after a championship belt shot to the head. The Ram bounced back, only to be sidelined by an injury, then taking time off for the birth of his daughter. He made a return at Starrcade '85 as Logan's mystery opponent, regaining his title in the process.

Profile: A young, humble, hard-working Mexican wrestler, Salmanca's childhood hero was Pedro Gonzalez. Sol was inspired by a Hispanic wrestler becoming a world champion in America. Rather than taking up a mask as most luchadores do, Salmanca wrestled openly as himself. While he rarely one, his determination and the tremendous pride he took in his in-ring performance helped him stand out. He got signed by WCWF in the wake of Gonzalez's career-ending injury and quickly became comfortable with American wrestling. He has a promising future. A career highlight was winning the TV Title at the first Wrestlemania, with Gonzalez personally putting the belt around his waist.

Profile: A former bodybuilder, he started his career in the territories as "Strongman Samson" doing an old-fashioned circus strongman gimmick with feats of strength and handlebar mustache. He proved more capable in the ring than most bodybuilders and weightlifters, although he's certainly no technician. By the time he got to WCWF he had ditched most of the cartoonish elements of his gimmick, although he still wears a carnival-style singlet. He's always been a heroic figure, never a bully.

Real World Analogy: Ray Stevens
Profile:

Stevens started wrestling as a teenager and spent most of his early career in Big Time Wrestling and other Pacific Coast territories. Starting as a cocky heel, he evolved into a sadistic technician who took more pleasure in hurting his opponents than winning. He had an impressive run in AWA teaming with Rocky Bockwinkel, who provided a eliquent partner to Stevens' cold viciousness. After the end of his third reign with Bockwinkel, Stevens jumped to WCWF where he formed a successful team with a young Johnny "Bloody" Valentine. Feeling the physical toll from many injuries and recognizing the trend toward larger wrestlers, "Crippler" Stevens retired in 1982 after a Hall-of-Fame-worthy career.

Real World Analogy: "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
Profile:

A second-generation wrestler, Theodore Stanley Ironside's father died in the ring of a heart attack when Stan was 15. He took up wrestling after an injury ended his college sports career, originally wrestling as "Ted Ironside" in the Mid-South territory - a smiling face continuing his father's legacy. In 1980, he reinvented himself as a sleezy and egotistical businessman Stan Trump, modeled off real estate mogul Donald Trump. Donald's purchase of the USFL's New Jersey Generals brought him enough national attention that Stan got signed by WCWF. "Million Dollar Stan" is as dishonest and underhanded as they come. He's willing to cheat, steal, bribe, or manipulate anyone to further his own goals. While he likes to use other wrestlers as pawns against his rivals, Stan Trump is no pushover in the ring. Sooner or later he will acquire a championship - the only question is when and how (price is no object).

After Randy Robinson finally ended The Ayatollah's Reign of Terror, the first thing Stan did was try to buy the belt! This lead to an on-and-off feud between the two for almost a year. In 1985, Trump bought the TV Title, only to have the sale voided by the WCWF Commissioner. Million Dollar Stan also spent most of that year fueding with The Jolly Green Giant, including placing a bounty on Jolly's head. Currently, Trump is on his own, but it's only a matter of time before he buys new allies.
