This was a tournament final.  It was a sort of "World Cup", each country being allowed to submit two wrestlers.  There were 32 wrestlers, with 20 wrestlers represented.  Riley represented Great Britain, while Nakanishe represented Japan.

Turkish Delight
Rok
Turkish Delight was a jobber.  Rok was wrestling against him and lost the belt when Rod Irons, who he was feuding with at the time, interfered on Turkish Delight's behalf.  Rok attacked Turkish Delight after the match and broke his back, ending his career and forcing him to relinquish the title.

During this match, three Doomsdays appeared.  At the end, two unmasked, revealing themselves to be Norful The Viking and Alexander "The Grater".  Grater was the Doomsday holding the belt, though nobody was sure if he made the official pin.

30-Man Battle Royal
The World Title was vacated after the Triple Doomsday debacle at Crash Carnival 1997 and put up for grabs in a three-ring, thirty-man battle royal.  The final three men were Alexander "The Grater", The Scorpion and Mike Haggar.

Alexander "The Grater"
Handicap match with Alexander "The Grater" teamed with The Scorpion.  If Scorpion and Grater had won, Haggar would have been forced to leave the SMWA.  When he won, he forced Scorpion out of the SMWA (a match stipulation) and was awarded the World Title.  Grater was the one who was pinned.
