March 13th, 1999
From The Thomas Assembly Centre, Campus of Louisiana Tech, Louisiana
It's Saturday Night!  Do you know where YOUR action is?

Folks, tomorrow is The Journey!  Jack Slade vs Skarzz for the World Title.  Mike Haggar against Kodiak Marmoset in a 2 for 1 match.  The Scorpion against Alexander "The Grater" in a Louisiana Street Fight!  The Tag Team Title finals between the Air Raiders and the All-Americans!  Rick Clark vs Terry Sky!  Doomsday vs Biff Slamkovich!  That and so much more.  Tonight, however, it's time for something different.
As we usually do before our Sunday Pay-Per-Views, we offer a Saturday Night Slam Masters where the lesser lights are allowed to shine.  Those wrestlers who aren't going to be wrestling at the SuperDome on Sunday will have their chance tonight!  Our Main Event will be a Falls Count Anywhere encounter between Highland Hell and the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine.  So, without further ado, let's get to the action.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match
The Baki Mono
vs
Fuerza Dragon, Gestalt, and Enrico Ferdinand

Nothing much to say except that this is going to hurt.  The Baki Mono have proven how destructive they can be.  Fuerza Dragon, Gestalt and Enrico Ferdinand haven't proven a whole lot.  This would be squash city.
Teioh and Raijin started things off by double teaming Enrico Ferdinand.  Teioh put Ferdinand on the mat with a power bomb while Raijin flattened him with a flying senton! The match didn't go much longer after that.  Teioh whipped Ferdinand into the ropes and Raijin flattened him with a spinebuster slam on the way back before perching the all but finished bull fighter on the top-turnbuckle and ending the squash with the Thunderclap

Baki Mono (Fujin, Raijin, Teioh, and Zuzanow) defeated Fuerza Dragon, Enrico Ferdinand, and Gestalt when Raijin pinned Ferdinand with the Thunderclap in 0:01:06.
Rating: **

Ferdinand's team-mates stormed the ring, but the Baki Mono made quick work of them, too.  In the end, it was just Zists, Iznami and their Samurai Warriors.  Even though they're not booked for The Journey, it's a safe bet they might show up.

Lovechild
vs
Kenji Hashimuto

Kenji's been in a holding pattern for a while, having flashes of greatness but never quite measuring up.  Lovechild is on a small cold streak.
Hashimuto started off fast whipping Lovechild into a corner and knocking him down with a clothesline and proceeding to stomp a mudhole through him! Kenji kept stomping away until finally the ref interjected himself and threatened Hashimuto with disqualification if he didn't let Lovechild up.  Hashimuto didn't react to well and turned violently towards the ref as if he were going to strike him.  This gave Lovechild the opportunity he needed and he nailed Kenji in the back of the head with a lariat before making a cover for a quick two count.
Lovechild kept on the attack whipping Hashimuto into the ropes and clocking him with an enzuigiri on the rebound that made Hashimuto fall flat on his face! Lovechild looking for a rare win pulled Kenji to his feet and tried to apply the Love Hug, but Hashimuto had the presence of mind to counter it with a headbutt before tossing Lovechild out of the ring! As Lovechild pulled himself to his feet outside the ring Hashimuto tried to fling himself onto Lovechild with a tope.
Lovechild managed to redirect Hashimuto into the concrete knocking him silly! Lovechild rolled Hashimuto into the ring and took him to the canvas with a backspin DDT before making a cover for a very near fall! Lovechild pulled Hashimuto to his feet and locked in the Love Hug! Hashimuto wasn't giving up he was trying to fight out, he fought and fought for some 50 odd seconds before he stopped moving.  The ref asked him to respond
    Nothing.

Lovechild made Kenji Hashimuto submit to the Love Hug in 0:11:24.

That wasn't a squash.  The next match, however, our only title match for the evening, likely would be.

SMWA Toughman Title Bout
The Flying Scotsman (C)
vs
Nitro

This was the usual Toughman Title defence by Scotsman.  Scots slugged Nitro with a left hook for his first punch.... and Nitro went down! Nitro got back up.... and was reintroduced to the canvas courtesy of a Scotsman uppercut! Nitro came to his feet one more time and lunged at Scotsman with a big right hand..... but Scots simply side-stepped the blow and a right cross had Nitro kissing the canvas again, the ref rung the bell the slaughter was over.
Haven't seen Nitro take a beating that bad since last Monday.

Toughman Bout:
The Flying Scotsman defeated Nitro via first round technical knockout at the 00:33 mark.
(The Flying Scotsman retained the SMWA Toughman Championship.)

    Scots rolls right along.

Clone
vs
Quasar

To say Quasar was outclassed in this match is an understatement.  Clone may not be what he used to be, but he's still damn good.  Quasar obviously knew this and tried to catch Clone off guard with a rana which Clone turned into a piledriver! Clone quickly made the cover, barley a two count. Clone grabbed Quasar by the legs and slingshotted him into the turnbuckles before taking him back to the mat with a Toka leg trip and applying a scorpion deathlock! But Clone had applied the move to close to the ropes and Quasar managed to get an arm in the bottom one, Clone was forced to relinquish the hold!
No matter though.  Clone kept Quasar on the defensive end of things whipping him into the ropes and attempting a backdrop..... Clone put his head down too early however and Quasar nailed him with a kick to the face before getting Clone in position for a DDT! But Quasar hesitated too long before attempting the move and Clone managed to counter it with an inverted atomic drop before nearly launching Quasars head into the stands with a lunging lariat! Clone then picked up Quasar over his head in a gorilla press position before spinning him around, dropping him onto his shoulder and nearly smashing him into a million pieces with a press slam!
That was about it..... Clone picked up Quasar and applied a full nelson, while keeping the move locked on Clone walked backwards into a corner and jumped onto the onto the 2nd-turnbuckle from which he released the full nelson and leapt onto Quasar's shoulders before falling forward into the Astral Roll! The 3 count was academic.

Clone pinned Quasar with the Copycat Move in 0:12:31.

Clone gets back on that winning track.  Where's Kodiak when he needs him?

Nord Fullstrom
vs
"Iron" Rod Emerson

    Two powerhouses, two former greats.
Fullstrom quickly established himself as the aggressor in this match-up knocking down Emerson with a clothesline before bouncing off the ropes and scoring an early near fall with a picture perfect splash! Fullstrom then, in a impressive display of power, hoisted up Emerson in a gorilla press position before tossing him over the top rope to the outside of the ring!
Fullstrom got onto the ring apron and as Emerson began to pull himself to his feet Fullstrom jumped off the apron and tried to drive a double-axehandle into the small of Emerson's back, but Rod quickly spun around and intercepted him in mid-air with a fist to the midsection! Emerson then tried to whip a stunned Fullstrom into the ringsteps but big Nord reversed the whip and Emerson smashed into the ringsteps at full speed! The former viking kept on the offence picking up Emerson and absolutely DRILLING him into the arena floor with a spinebuster slam! Fullstrom rolled Emerson into the ring and made a cover for a VERY near fall!
Nord, like a shark smelling blood, whipped Emerson into the ropes and on the rebound tried to spear him with a football tackle, but Emerson countered the move with a perfectly timed DDT before applying a camel clutch! Fullstrom managed to claw his way to the ropes after about 10 seconds and Emerson released the hold.
Emerson tried to kick Fullstrom in the face as he was pulling himself up, but Nord caught his leg and spun him around before nailing him with a kick to the midsection of his own and planting him in the middle of the ring with a double underhook power bomb before making a cover for another near fall! Finally Fullstrom tried to whip Emerson into the ropes but Emerson reversed the whip and tried to take Fullstroms head off with a lariat.
Nord ducked under it and when Emerson turned around he was greeted with a Battle Axe Kick to the mush!

Nord Fullstrom pinned Rod Emerson with the Battle-Axe Kick in 0:12:40.
Rating: **

Fullstrom regains some momentum.  Maybe another shot at the TV Title is in the cards.

"Fly Guy" Wally B w/ The California Kid
vs
Teknos

Young up and coming Cruiserweight vs established but faltering Cruiserweight.  It's not the Four Way on Sunday, but it could end up being big.
Wally first thing whipped Teknos into the ropes and tried to catch him in a Frankensteiner on the way back, but Teknos countered by spiking him directly on his head with a power bomb!
Teknos tossed Wally out of the ring tried to launch himself onto the downed Fly Guy with a plancha, but The California Kid pulled his tag team partner out of the way and Teknos landed face first on the arena floor! Wally came to his feet and rolled Teknos back into the ring where he would take him to the mat with a bulldog before making a cover, only a two count.
Wally went up top and nailed Teknos with a flying cross body press, but Teknos rolled through the move and scored a near fall! Teknos kept on the offensive hitting a fisherman suplex for a two count before putting Wally on the mat with a snap suplex and mounting the top-turnbuckle.  He came off with a flying elbowdrop but Wally rolled out of the way!
Wally, finally with an advantage, picked up Teknos for a back suplex.... but Teknos countered by turning over in mid-air and falling onto the Fly Guy for a near fall!
Teknos tried to capitalize on his advantage with a legsweep faceslam but Wally blocked the move and staggered Teknos with an elbowsmash before scoring a near fall of his own with a swinging neckbreaker!
Looking for the win Wally went to the top-turnbuckle but before he could come off with the Flyin' Fly Guy, Teknos popped to his and shook the ropes! Wally crotched himself on the top-turnbuckle and fell back into the ring giving Teknos all the time he needed to go up top and hit the Teknospinner!

Teknos pinned Wally B with the Teknospinner in 0:12:55.
Rating: ** 1/4

The California Kid wasn't a happy camper at ringside, but he'd have to get over it, because he had some work to do next!

Spoon Man
vs
The California Kid

Two silly gimmicks.  Two talented wrestlers.  One match!  LETS GET IT ON!!!
California took the early advantage unloading on Spoon Man with a series of chops before having an attempted whip into the ropes reversed, but California was ready for that and flipped off the ropes onto Spoon Man with an Asai Moonsault, only a one count. California then scooped up Spoon Man and bodyslammed him near a corner before going to the top-turnbuckle and flipping off onto California with a Shooting Star Press for a near fall!
California kept on the attack whipping Spoon Man into the ropes and attempting to put him on the mat with a clothesline.  Spoon Man ducked and when California turned around he was met with a superkick! But California was ready and he ducked under the move at the last second before felling Spoon Man with a vicious low blow! With Spoon Man stunned California capitalized, dropping his adversary on his head with a back suplex prior to scoring a near fall with a standing moonsault! California was in complete control and he knew it, he took some time to work the crowd showing off a "Hang Ten" sign before getting Spoon Man in position for a double underhook power bomb.
All the playing with the crowd came back to haunt Cal as Spoon Man elevated him with a backdrop before ascending the turnbuckles and flying off with the Spoonsault!

Spoon Man pinned The California Kid with the Spoonsault in 0:10:20.

NightClaw 2
vs
"Shadowfire" Naga Yajito

Oni faces Amatsu, Naga Yajito's superior, on Sunday.  With the rest of the Baki Mono in the building, one has to wonder what is NightClaw thinking?
Naga jumped NightClaw as he entered the ring smashing him in the back with a double-axehandle before getting him in position for a tiger driver, but NightClaw managed to counter the move with a backdrop before going to the top turnbuckle and nailing Naga in the back of the head with a corkscrew dropkick as he came to his feet! A groggy Naga Yajito managed to stagger back to his feet only to be greeted with a palm blow to the face by NightClaw! NightClaw picked up Yajito and perched him on the top turnbuckle.  He took Yajito for a ride with a double underhook superplex and made a cover for a quick 3 count!

NightClaw pinned Naga Yajito after a double underhook superplex in 0:01:15.
Rating: **

The lights began to dim, and NightClaw knew what was coming.  Just as the Baki Mono appeared, NightClaw disappeared in a puff of blue smoke.  Not tonight, Baki.  Not tonight.

Main Event
Falls Count Anywhere Tag Team Match
Highland Hell
vs
The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine

Four big brawlers.  FCA rules.  This would be good.
Crash Burnz and Angus Wallace started the contest with Crash almost immediately taking the action to the outside by mustering up enough force to knock Angus to the floor with a huge lariat!  Crash tried to jump onto the downed Angus with a head tope but the big Scot managed to get out of the way at the last second and Burnz simply knocked himself into next week!
In the meantime Hamish MacTavish laid out Slash Battle by smashing him over the head with a cookie sheet before making a cover for a near fall! Hamish then left Slash Battle for dead and went to help Angus.  He did a good job of that whacking Burnz over the head with the same cookie sheet he used on Slash before assisting Angus in double power bombing Burnz on the sheet! Angus then went for the cover on the downed Burnz but before the 3 could be counted it was broken up by a chair shot from a Battle who had recovered from the shot to the head that he took from a cookie sheet earlier! Battle then whacked Hamish with the chair making him fall to the arena floor before leaping onto the ring apron and springing off it onto Angus with the chair!
Battle then returned to the ring apron but before he could do anything else he found the hand of Hamish MacTavish around his neck! Hamish took him for the ride with a Scottish Slam through a ringside table! With Burnz still out from the power bomb earlier Hamish covered Battle and scored the three count!

Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Highland Hell defeated The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine when Hamish pinned Slash with the Scottish Slam in 0:07:07.
Rating: *** 1/4
