Jones: Folks, this Monday Night, we witnessed
possibly the most violent battle in the War of the Super Powers and what
may go down as the most despicable act in the history of professional wrestling.
Zangief and Chad Hillsman faced off in a strap match, a match which Zangief
won in dominating fashion. To win the match, you had to touch all
four turnbuckles in succession. Zangief did that, but he did it while
the leather strap was wrapped around the throat of Hillsman.
The match was over, but the strap remained around
the throat of Hillsman. Zangief then proceeded to, for lack of a
better word, hang Hillsman over the top rope. The videotape is so
disgusting that we've been asked not to show it, but as you can see from
these still photos, Zangief was literally trying to choke the life out
of Zangief. Hillsman slipped into unconsciousness and then went into
violent convulsions as his body looked for a breath of air. It was
all for naught, as Zangief would not let go.
Finally, officials and police restrained Zangief
and freed Hillsman, who was rushed away by EMT's and taken to a local hospital.
It was at this point we went off the air.
Well, we later found out that, on his way to
the hospital, Chad Hillsman stopped breathing and had to receive artificial
respiration. Fortunately, that was the worst of it. Chad Hillsman
is now recovering at his Washington, DC home and should be returning to
action fairly soon. Aside from the temporary respiratory difficulties,
Hillsman was also treated for several lacerations and burns to his neck.
Zangief was taken to a local police station and
spent the night behind bars, being released the next day. No charges
have been laid as of yet.
We have received word from SMWA Commissioner
Jack McCullough that he will address this situation on Monday Night Massacre.
Both Zangief and Chad Hillsman will be present for his decision.
What is that decision? We'll have to wait until Monday to see, but
I doubt it can be anything good for Zangief.
It should be another big Saturday Night for the
SMWA.
Jack Slade returns to action to face off against
the exciting California Kid.
The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine and Highland
Hell battle it out for a chance to face Fuerza Dragon for the SMWA Tag
Team Titles on Monday Night Massacre.
The Flying Scotsman defends the SMWA Toughman
Title against Sky Entertainment Ltd. stablemate Mauling Bear.
We will hear from Titan Tim Redbury.
King Rasta will defend the SMWA Television Title
against two time former SMWA TV Champ Nord Fullstrom.
And in our main event, the mysterious silent
avenger, Shadow Maxx, gets the chance of a lifetime as he faces of against
Mike Haggar for the SMWA World Heavyweight Title.
Let's get to the action.
A few weeks ago, Teioh went after Lantern, believing
that Lantern was the one responsible for the bizarre "Light Man" sightings.
Well, after Teioh destroyed Lantern in a one on one encounter, those thoughts
were put to bed.
Lantern was dumped from Sky Entertainment Ltd.
by Ron Grayson this Monday. Tonight is his chance to prove that he
is not a loser, that he is much better without the aid of the corporation.
It's also a chance to strike back at Teioh's "pupil" for the savage beating
he took at the hands of Teioh.
This should be a great match between two outstanding
cruiserweights.
As Naga made his way to the ring, the video of the latest "Light Man" attack was shown to the television audience. We saw Naga deliver a devastating kick, only to have it go through the head of the "Light Man". Naga was then floored by a vicious backhand. Would this man show up again tonight?
The action turned to the mat early, and that's
how Naga was able to take control. He kept Lantern on the mat with
various leglocks and submission holds. If Lantern could not fly,
he could not win. Simple as that. Lantern was able to kick
Naga off as he went for a figure four leglock, knocking Naga into the turnbuckles.
Lantern connected with a vicious dropkick to the back of the head and gained
control.
Lantern managed to keep Naga guessing for the
next few minutes with a bevy of high flying moves. But a Frankensteiner
had disastrous results as Naga was able to turn the move into a vicious
piledriver. Yajito then battered Lantern with vicious kicks.
Taking Lantern to the corner, Naga snapped his head back with a vicious
Yakuza kick. Before Lantern could fall out of the corner, Naga turned
him around and dropped him with a vicious backdrop driver for a near fall.
Looking to finish the match, Naga climbed onto
the middle turnbuckle. Lantern somehow got up and connected
with several shots to the stomach. Climbing the buckle, he took Naga
off with a DDT.
Both men lay motionless on the match, the move
having on impact on each man. Lantern was up first. He attempted
a rana, but Naga moved out of the way. He grabbed a groggy Lantern
and rolled him up in an inside cradle for the win.
Naga Yajito pinned Lantern after an inside
cradle in 0:11:27.
Rating: *** 1/4
The lights went out as Naga left the ring.
But in the dark arena, for the briefest second, the flash of the "Light
Man" was visible.
Whoever this guy is, he's looking to take Naga
and Teioh out.
We took a commercial break and then returned to...
Simply put, West Bronco has not lost a match since beating Ron Grayson at Back Street Brawl. He is the hottest wrestler in the SMWA and is setting himself for a shot at one of the SMWA Titles. B.L.Z. Bub has not won in the longest time. This really wouldn't be much of a contest.
It wasn't. Bub got his shots in but dropped his head too early on a backdrop. Bronco nailed him with a DDT. Bulldog. A few lariats. The Tombstone. That was it.
West Bronco pinned B.L.Z. Bub with the Tombstone
in 0:03:04.

Bronco's hot streak continues.
Backstage, Nick Jones was waiting with the North American Champion, Titan Tim Rebury.
Jones: I'm here with Titan Tim Redbury, the SMWA North American Champion and the leader of the Raiders. Tim, you have a big North American Title defence coming up at Thanksgiving Thunder, but before we address that, I'd like to talk to you about your match last weekend against Clepto the Clown. Clepto has left the SMWA as a result of injuries he sustained in that match. Tim, how do you feel about injuring a clown?
Redbury: (smirking) Jones, if you're in this sport to injure people, you're in it for the wrong reasons. However, I don't think you're going to find a single person in this federation that believes that a clown had any business being here. To put it mildly, Clepto knew the risks when he stepped into the ring. He never should have left the big top in the first place.
Jones: Well, I know one man who would disagree with that, Tim, and that would be Sky Entertainment Ltd.'s Director of Personnel, Ron Grayson...
Redbury: (cutting Jones off) Director of Personnel. Terry, what were you thinking when you hired this guy? Grayson, I'll give you credit. You are a great wrestler, but you lack any ounce of common sense. Clepto? Lantern? Monica? All mistakes that bear your name. But the last mistake you will ever make will be when you step into the ring with me at Thanksgiving Thunder. I don't care if you are the Corporate Champion, Grayson. I'm the North American Champion, and I plan on staying that way. And after I'm done with you one on one, The Raiders will dismantle Sky Entertainment Ltd. in the Rolling Thunder match. Simply put, Ron, you'll be unemployed.
Jones: Tim, thank you for your time.
We went to a commercial and came back for some tag team action.
Two unimpressive teams in an equally unimpressive match. Glutt dominated early on, but was finally double teamed by Angel and Hashimuto. The match was a very slow brawl, the only interesting parts being when the up and coming Hashimuto and Blackhook were able to show us some of their stuff. Still, it was a dull match. Greed and Gluttony took it when Glutt flattened Dark Angel with the Suppressant.

We returned to see a match with a wrestler we haven't seen for a few weeks. It was going to be...
Slade hasn't wrestled since
losing a three-on-one handicap match to Simply the Best a couple of weeks
ago. With that behind him, it was time for Slade to start blazing
his own trail in the SMWA.
Interestingly enough, both
Mike Haggar and Jack Slade had bumped into each other earlier in the evening.
Reports were that the two were friendly with each other, but both men seemed
a little bit on edge. It may take time for both men to adjust to
this break-up.
And, one other detail -
Jessica's name was never mentioned. She isn't even in the building
tonight.
All that aside, Slade would
be facing a fairly stiff challenge in newcomer The California Kid.
While the Kid is a little goofy and hasn't had the best won-loss record
in the SMWA, he has put on some exciting matches. This would be a
hell of a chance for the youngster to prove himself against a true SMWA
Superstar.
The Kid, realizing how big
of a match this would be for him, went all out from the start and jumped
Slade right away. Bad move. You don't brawl with Jack Slade.
Slade beat the Kid down and immediately started connecting with high impact
moves. He nailed the Kid with a piledriver, some vicious elbowdrops
and floored him with the Concussion Bomb. Slade went for a Cruncher
Crab, but the Kid was too close to the ropes.
Slade poured on the offence
and the Kid was hurting. Looking for the win, Slade climbed the turnbuckles
to deliver a flying cross body press. But before Slade could take
off, the Kid jumped up on the buckles and took Slade off with a beautiful
Frankensteiner. The Cruncher hit the mat hard and the Kid took control.
Did he ever! Cal
was stringing together some incredible combinations of moves. He
hit Slade with two inverted atomic drops, then hit a DDT and followed up
with a 450 splash. He got a two count!!! That had to be the
biggest thrill of this young Kid's career!
The Kid kept up his offence,
flying all over Slade. He got another two count with a shooting star
press and then locked on his hold, THE CALIFORNIA DEATH GRIP!
The California Death Grip
involved trying to twist your opponent's nose off. The Kid had a
good grip on Slade and Slade was stuck in the hold for 48 SECONDS!!! But
he wasn't going to submit to a noselock. Slade kicked the Kid in
the stomach and delivered a beautiful Soviet suplex!
Slade got up and went up
top. He hit a beautiful flying dropkick and went for the cover.
He got a two count. Slade then took the Kid up top and hit a superplex.
Both men struggled to their feet. Slade went for a clothesline, but
the Kid ducked and wrapped up Slade from behind, about to hit a German
suplex. Slade fought his way out with a few elbows to the face.
The Kid let go and was then hit with a Stunner. Slade wrapped Cal
up and got the three count.
Jack Slade pinned The California Kid after
the Stunner in 0:12:56.
Rating: **** 1/4
Slade
continues to roll along but the Kid put on an impressive show. He
came VERY close, but not close enough.
Whatever direction Slade
is now going in, it looks to be a winning one.
We took another commercial break and came back to a Toughman Title defence.
Two members of Sky Entertainment Ltd. would duke it out for the Toughman Title. Mauling Bear was on his way up in the tournament to crown the first ever Toughman Champ before he injured his hip in a match with El Stingray. Scotsman, being some sort of a gentleman, has decided to give a match to the Bear.
Round 1
Mauling Bear came out swinging, but none of his
shots seemed to have any effect on the Scotsman. Bear hit twenty
two punches in the first round. None of them had much of an effect.
The Scotsman hit four punches. Two of them took Bear off of his feet.
Round 2
Bear
had no shot. He had punched himself out in the first round and was
tired as hell in the second round. Scotsman hit him with three punches.
Each one knocked Bear down. The ref called for the bell.
Toughman Bout:
The Flying Scotsman defeated Mauling Bear
via second-round technical knockout at the 00:37 mark.
(The Flying Scotsman retained the SMWA Toughman
Championship.)

WOW!!! Nobody's going to take this belt of the waist of the Scotsman! Incredible!
Coming back from commercial, we would have...
Whatever potential Quasar once had seems to be rapidly disappearing. This once highly touted luchador has been on a horrible streak. Rokuru, on the other hand, is regaining a winning form. And, yes, it is making Teddy very happy.
Again, not an exciting match. Rokuru was able to ground Quasar for much of the match. Quasar really didn't seem to have any idea of what was going on in the ring. Rokuru confused him with a bevy of mat hold and eventually knocked him cold with a Yakuza kick. That was it.
Rokuru pinned Quasar after a Yakuza kick in
0:07:22.
Rating: 3/4*
Rokuru then grabbed Teddy, gave him a hug and took the mic.
"Yes, Teddy. I'm glad you're happy! YesIam!!! But you want more? You do! Oh, Teddy, we can't be selfish. But it would make you happy, wouldn't it? Yes, yes it would. Okay, Teddy. This Monday, I'll do it!!!"
And with that, Rokuru left. What on earth was he talking to Teddy about?
We could worry about it later, as King Rasta was about to defend the Television Title against the first ever Television Champion, Nord Fullstrom.
This was an old fashioned brawl between two powerhouses.
Nord Fullstrom came out swinging, but Rasta was more than happy to oblige.
Ducking a big roundhouse right, Rasta floored Fullstrom with an enzuigiri
to the back of the head. Rasta then tossed Nord outside and floored
him with a flying clothesline from the ring apron. The brawl continued
outside the ring. Rasta floored Nord with a belly-to-belly suplex
and rolled him into the ring for a near fall.
Nord was fighting an uphill battle for the rest
of the match. He did hit a big spinebuster that gave him a temporary
edge. A big legdrop put Rasta down for a two count. But it
wasn't enough. Nord went for the Battle-Axe Kick, but Rasta moved
and Nord's foot got caught up on the top rope. Rasta took him down
with a reverse neck breaker and then scaled the ropes. The Dread
Lock Drop put an end to this match.
King Rasta pinned Nord Fullstrom with the Dread
Lock Drop in 0:09:50.
Rating: ** 1/4
(King Rasta retained the SMWA Television Title.)
A big win for the big Rastafarian. Two titles have been successfully defended tonight, but before we get to Mike Haggar vs Shadow Maxx, we have two more matches to go. First...
These two met at Back Street Brawl, with the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine getting the duke thanks to the outside interference of Steelworks. They would fight tonight to determine a contender for Fuerza Dragon. The match would be Monday.
Slash Battle and Angus Wallace started the match
out. Battle quickly floored Wallace with a thunderous clothesline.
Wallace got back up but was then floored with a DDT.
Before the match could proceed any further, Major
Force strolled down to ringside. Ghost started jawing with Burnz
as Skarzz and Grater took up flank at the aisle. Extinct, irate that
Masters would try to cost him a shot at the Tag Team Titles, jumped up
onto the apron to confront the referee. The ref was already trying
to deal with Ghost and Burnz and paid little attention to Extinct.
Well, Extinct MADE him pay attention when he
turned the referee around and slapped him. It got the ref's attention,
all right. But the result was not what Extinct had hoped for.
Highland Hell defeated The Philadelphia X-Treme
Machine when Hamish defeated Burnz by disqualification in 0:01:24.
Rating: 3/4*
Major Force then left ringside as Extinct continued to jaw with the referee. Highland Hell didn't seem to know what was happening, but they didn't care. They had a shot coming up on Monday Night Massacre, and they were planning on making it count.
As
the name indicates, the quality of the matches themselves are often the
luck of the draw. However, this week, it looked like we just might
have a good one on our hands as the first competitor was introduced - Gunloc.
The hated member of the All-Americans made his way down to the ring amidst
a chorus of boos. Gunloc looked mad as hell, probably seething over
the incident on Monday Night Massacre with Zangief and Chad Hillsman.
Next name - Rob
Doppler? Who??? The crowd buzzed
as they awaited this...whoever this was.
Then, from out of the crowd
came a fan. He couldn't have been any more than a buck seventy and
looked nothing like a wrestler. Security stopped him, but he flashed
them a piece of his I.D.
He was Rob Doppler.
A fan had somehow sabotaged the drawing process and made his way into the
Luck of the Draw Match!
Security let him through,
and we had a match.
Sort of.
Doppler charged right at Gunloc and started punching him. Gunloc didn't move and inch. He finally took a swing at Doppler, knocking to the ground with one punch. Gunloc then kicked Doppler in the ribs a couple of times before picking him back up. Gunloc executed the Gut Crush and got a VERY easy win.
SMWA Luck of the Draw Match
Gunloc pinned Rob Doppler with
the Gut Crush in 0:01:16.
Rating: -**
Well, a random fan had just
got beat up. Serves him right for messing with the draw.
Nick Jones then came down
to ringside as Gunloc was leaving and approached him.
Jones: Gunloc, about Monday
Night...
Gunloc: Jones, it was attempted
murder plain and simple. Zangief should be locked up in a cage like
the animal he is. He put Chad in the hospital. He tried to
kill him! And there is no way in Hell that McCullough can condone
that! McCullough, whatever you have planned for this Monday, it better
involve Zangief being led to jail in a pair of handcuffs, because that
is what that bastard deserves!
Gunloc stormed right past
Jones and made his way to the dressing room. Strong words from a
man who was obviously upset - and rightfully so. What would happen
with Zangief on Monday? Commissioner McCullough has a very big decision
to make.
We went to a commercial
and came back to the locker room. Nick Jones was about to interview
Mike Haggar, but first, our television audience got a look and listen to
the "Asshole" song as sung by Simply the Best this Monday Night.
We then went to Jones' interview with Mike Haggar.
Jones: Mike, as you did on Monday, you just saw and heard Simply the Best's.... well, you just heard their song. Obviously Rick Clark and his friends feel pretty confident about a victory over you at Thanksgiving Thunder. But before that, you have Ron Grayson on Monday Night and, tonight, you have to deal with Shadow Maxx. What are your thoughts on this situation?
Haggar: Damn, you talk a lot, Jones. I guess I'll take it in order. StB's song...it was pretty impressive, wasn't it? Clark, I think you missed your true calling. I'm going to use a little cliche here, but it seems appropriate; Don't sing it, bring it! You've got a little over two weeks before your chance of a lifetime, and you're cutting albums? That's good, that's very good. As far as I'm concerned, when you were singing on Monday, it might as have well been a fat lady, because it's over for you. Ron Grayson is my next match, I don't look ahead. Shadow Maxx, you've got one hell of a chance tonight, pal. I'll see you in the ring.
Jones: Mike, wait. One more question; Where's your daughter?
Haggar: Hm. It doesn't look like she's here, does it? We're done here, Jones.
Jones' signal from the back cut out. Mike Haggar is remaining focused on the task at hand, and that task is an always dangerous Shadow Maxx.
We took our final commercial break before our...
Main
Event
SMWA
World Heavyweight Title Match
Mike
Haggar (c)
vs
Shadow
Maxx
RA: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is for the Slam Masters Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Title. It is scheduled for one fall with a one hour time limit.
RA: First, the challenger. From Parts Unknown.... Weig hing in at two hundred and sixty pounds.... Shadow Maxx!!!
Maxx came to the ring to a mixed reaction. Some fans have applauded him for saving King Rasta from constant assaults by Grant Redstone - and for destroying the increasingly annoying Kodiak Marmoset in under a minute this Monday. But others can't forgive him for the abuse that he laid upon Bobby the Monkey during his time as a Sin. Even if it was just to save Bobby from a worse punishment, most fans weren't being overly sympathetic. Either way, Maxx is still a dangerous competitor. He's a master street fighter and was the top star to come out of the SMWA New Blood camp in May. Maybe tonight will be the night he makes good on his potential.
RA: His opponent... From New York City.... Weighing in at three hundred and ten pounds... he is the five time Slam Masters Wrestling Association Heavyweight Champion of the World!!! MIKE HAGGAR!!!
It never fails. Any town he goes to, Mike
Haggar receives almost unanimous cheers. However, this week, something
was different. People were cheering for Mike Haggar...
Only Mike Haggar.
Jessica was nowhere to be seen.
Perhaps the idea of being in the same building
as her former love was too much for her to take. Maybe she's ill.
We just don't know.
The Silent Avenger would face off against the Defender. Haggar has an edge in size, power and experience, but Maxx has an edge in quickness. Both men are experience brawlers. Should be a good one.
Maxx started off the match by staring Haggar down,
trying to intimidate him as much as possible. But a staredown wouldn't
do anything to Mike Haggar. He's seen all the eyes in the world,
and none of them have ever made him back down.
Maxx gained a quick advantage against Haggar
early, clotheslining him out of a tie up. Maxx used his speed to
maintain an advantage, catching Haggar with several springboard moves.
However, when Maxx tried to leapfrog a running Haggar, Haggar caught him
and took him down with a vicious inverted atomic drop. Haggar followed
up with a running axhandle and took control.
Haggar overpowered Maxx for the next few minutes,
nearly pinning him with a devastating powerslam. But Maxx held tough.
Haggar went for a bodyslam, but Maxx floated over and snared Haggar in
a vicious standing bulldog. Haggar got up to his feet and, like lightning,
Maxx dropped him with the DARK BOMB!
The crowd was silent as Maxx went for the cover

NO!!! Haggar kicked out. But the move had
taken it's toll. Maxx continued to pound on Haggar unopposed.
Maxx flew around a dazed Haggar. He floored him with an Asai moonsault
and followed up with a senton. Two count. He picked Haggar
up and planted him with a jack-knife style power bomb. Another two
count. Maxx then went up top and delivered another devastating moonsault.
Again, only two.
Haggar was getting dominated by Maxx. As
unlikely as it might have seemed, Shadow Maxx was on his way to winning
the World Title.
Maxx again went to the ring apron to deliver
a springboard move. He jumped up onto the top rope. Haggar
dove at the rope and Maxx fell, the rope in between his legs. Haggar
then grabbed Maxx by the neck and executed a neckbreaker!
Haggar had regained control. He nailed
Maxx with a power bomb and climbed the top rope. Haggar dove off
with a beautiful flying clothesline. Maxx tried to move out of the
way, but he still took a lot of the impact. Maxx was down on the
mat.
But so was Haggar!!!
Haggar was writhing in pain on the mat, clutching
his shoulder. He had landed oddly when Maxx tried to avoid the move
and now was hurt in a bad way.
Maxx capitalized. He tossed Haggar into
the corner, Haggar still holding his arm and shoulder. Maxx worked
Haggar's body and then whipped him into the opposite corner. Haggar
went shoulder first into the turnbuckle. He slumped into the corner
as Maxx backed up for a big splash.
Maxx dove in but Haggar somehow managed to hit
him in the face with a big boot. Maxx fell to the ground and Haggar
did his best to end the match quickly. He hit Maxx with a big lariat
and then kicked him in the stomach. He picked Maxx up for a Screwdriver,
managed to half spin him and dropped him on his head. Obviously in
pain, Haggar went for the cover.

(Mike Haggar retained the SMWA World Heavyweight
Title.)
Mike Haggar suffered a dislocated right shoulder.
He will be out for approximately 1 card.
Haggar had taken the match,
but he was still in a lot of pain. It appeared as if his shoulder
had popped in and out during the match. Haggar was still clutching
his arm as he grabbed his belt and unceremoniously limped back to the dressing
room.
Mike Haggar is hurt, and
it looks like he is hurt fairly bad. Will he be able to defend his
World Title against Ron Grayson on Monday Night Massacre? And if
not, what then?
