At Slam Masters: Proving Ground, Mike Haggar and Jack Slade will team up to face Jerry Kent and Rick Clark in a tag team match.
Mike Haggar is at home in New York City. Cody is in the hospital. But Jack Slade, Jessica Haggar and Simply the Best are all in the arena.
And tonight, the War of the Super Powers will continue as former SMWA World Champion Zangief faces off against Gunloc of the All-Americans.
Welcome to Monday Night Massacre
Our show started with Jack
Slade coming down to ringside. Slade had told producers that he wanted
time to explain his actions from last week and also talk about his match
with Mike Haggar against Simply the Best at Slam Masters: Proving Ground.
But Jack was walking to the
ring alone...where was Jessica Haggar???
Slade entered the ring and
grabbed the mic. But before he could say anything, out came Simply
the Best, minus the hospitalized Cody. They headed straight for the
ring, straight for Slade.
Jerry Kent grabbed the microphone
and addressed Slade.
"I just got the bad news, Jack. The SMWA has sucked you into teaming with Mike Haggar one more time. And it's against us. Poor guy."
Slade raised an eyebrow and laughed at Kent, who continued.
"Now, Jack, I don't mean 'poor
guy' in that me-and-Rick-are-going-to-beat-you-and-Haggar-up
-real-bad type of way. I genuinely feel
sorry for you, Jack."
"I mean, look at yourself.
You've accomplished so much over the summer. TV Champion, hero to
millions. You and Cody had one of the greatest matches in SMWA History
at Back Street Brawl, and THAT is saying something. You're at the
top of your game. You could probably challenge for that TV Belt,
maybe for the North American Belt, heck, maybe even for the World Title!"
"But you get sucked in once
again as Mike Haggar's little tag team partner. You beat Cody and
finally had a chance to put this Haggar stuff behind you, but then you
just go and get dragged back in. You poor, poor guy."
"But you know, Jack.
It doesn't have to be like that. No it doesn't. Your days as
Haggar's Little Helper could easily come to an end. You don't have
to live your career in the shadow of a paper legend. You could break
out on your own, break free from the shadow, become your own man!
And it will only take one move on your part, Jack. Just one."
"Join us. Join Simply
the Best. You can get out of this match at Proving Ground.
You don't have to be on the losing team anymore. Come on, Jack.
Join Simply the Best. Do it for your own sake. Stop being somebody
else's stooge!"
Slade glowered right at Kent and snatched the mic from his hand. His eyes never left those of "The Rebel". Slade was about to give an answer.
"First of all, Kent, I'm nobody's lackey. So if I dropped out of the match at Proving Ground because you want me to and joined up with Simply the Best, by your pathetic Alzheimer ridden reasoning, I'd be your lackey. So how about I just say no."
The crowd exploded into cheers, but Slade wasn't finished.
"How about we give folks a little Proving Ground preview? How about you pull your wrinkled old ass into that ring tonight so I can kick it all the way back to the old folks home? How about we do it tonight!?!"
Slade vs Kent II??? Tonight? Kent grabbed the mic and shook his head.
"Jack, Jack, Jack...we offered you a chance, pal. But if you want to play for the losing team, go right ahead. I accept your challenge. You poor kid. With that kind of attitude, you'll never be half the wrestler Mike Haggar claims to be."
Slade jumped right up on Kent and began pounding. Clark jumped him from behind, but Slade fought him off two. Two clotheslines dropped Clark and Kent from the ring, and Simply the Best returned backstage.
Jack Slade and Jerry Kent would hook it up once more...what a main event!
But first, a few more matches.
Guerra de Viajeros
IS-2000 vs
BC-2000
Months of frustration and losses have finally built
up too high for Los Viajeros. Since reaching the tag team title match
at Crash Carnival, Los Viajeros have been on a steady downwards spiral,
having been dominated by Highland Hell in a summer feud and never really
getting back on track. Frustration turned to anger, and BC-2000 and
IS-2000 have finally split.
Tonight, they would fight.
A fast paced brawl started this match between the
futuristic luchadors. The brawl then gave way to a great wrestling
match. BC-2000 took control with a power bomb and then dominated
with several great aerial moves. IS-2000 came back with a few flying
moves of his own, but BC-2000 hung tough. When IS-2000 went up top
for a moonsault, BC dropkicked him in the leg, causing him to fall onto
the buckle. BC hit a back superplex and then the 2000 Time Bomb.
1
2
NO!!! IS-2000 kicked out. But BC was
unfazed. He hit a Frankensteiner and got the pin on his one time
partner.
BC-2000 pinned IS-2000 after a Frankensteiner
in 0:10:00.
Rating: **** 1/4
An exciting match, if completely bereft of emotion. Los Viajeros had been on such a spiral that the crowd really didn't care that this exciting team was now officially over.
The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine w/Extinct vs Greed & Gluttony w/ Saul Masters
Greed & Gluttony's stablemate Skarzz, along with Alexander "The Grater", had cost the PXM the World Tag Team Titles to Fuerza Dragon on Saturday. Battle & Burnz weren't going to waste any time. And, to make matters worse for Greed & Gluttony, Doomsday decided to make his way down to the ring, too.
Glutt was clocked in the head with a chair before the match began and assaulted outside the ring by Doomsday, who put the big man through a table.. The PXM then double teamed Blackhook, who was without a partner. A double launch slam, a powerslam, several beatdowns - Blackhook stood no chance. Burnz climbed up top and hit the 3rd Degree, and that was all she wrote.
The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine defeated Greed
and Gluttony when Burnz pinned Blackhook with the 3rd Degree in 0:02:34.

Extinct then grabbed the mic.
"Masters. Grater. Skarzz. We just beat your cronies. You had the balls to cost us the World Tag Team Titles, so how about we see if you got the balls to step forward and show yourselves."
As Greed & Gluttony stumbled back to the dressing room, out came Grater, Skarzz and Masters. Grater had a second mic in his hands.
"Aw, what the hell you bitchin' 'bout now, Stink? Poor jackass, your goon squad lost the damn tag belts to a couple of idiots dressed up like Dragons. I feel for ya, I really do. See, I bet you thought we was done with ya once Clepto got in the way. All that clown did was give you a rest, pal. Me and Skarzz are a Major Force you and the Machine gotta worry about now. You think we're gonna let it end, you're damn wrong, Stink!"
Extinct looked back at Grater and gritted his teeth. "This is why we got rid of you in the first place, Grater. You talk to much. How about backing it up? Tonight, you and Doomsday, one on one. You up for that? Or are you all hot air."
Grater didn't pause. "A chance to kick the Green Giant's ass??? Damn right I'll take it!"
"Glad to hear it, Grater. We'll see you later. One more thing, though. If you and Skarzz want a piece of the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine, step up and do it yourself. Don't send Masters' no-talent lackey's to do the job for you."
Grater looked at Masters, who gave him a nod. "Well, Stink, I hate to say this. You're right. These two are pretty damn worthless!"
And with that, Skarzz and Grater attacked Greed & Gluttony, beating them to a pulp. Grater hit Blackhook with the Doomsday Tornado on the concrete, while Skarzz continually bounced Glutt's head off of the concrete. Saul Masters just stood right back, but then grabbed Grater's mic.
"That's been a long time coming. Extinct, the Sins are dead. Long live Major Force! We'll see you and Doomsday later tonight. Let's go, boys."
And with that, Grater and Skarzz stopped beating on their former partners and went backstage.
Grater and Skarzz together as Major Force...who's going to stop those two???
SMWA Toughman
Tournament - Quarterfinal Match
Andrew Marshall
vs Angus Wallace
Marshall, along with Rod Emerson,
had cost Angus and his Highland Hell partner the SMWA World Tag Team Titles
at Back Street Brawl. Now, the two would fight it out as the SMWA
Toughman Tournament continues.
Emerson came to the ring with
his Steelworks partner, while the Flying Scotsman came to the ring with
Angus. This fight was going to be a war.
Round One: Marshall doubled
the punch count on Angus and took him down with a beautiful single leg
takedown. Wallace came out of the first round with a cut above his
right eye.
Round Two: Marshall's first
punch put Angus to the mat, but Wallace got up at the four count.
Wallace was able to beat Marshall on the punch count, but Marshall took
Angus down twice. The bell ended with Angus FAR behind in points.
Round Three: Again, Marshall
takes the advantage. Wallace leaves the round wobbly.
Round Four: A right hook by
Marshall takes Angus down. Another one seconds later puts Angus down
again. Wallace got up and took a few shots, but Marshall was
able to parry and dodge and hit with a big uppercut. Wallace went
down again and the ref called for the bell.

Scotsman entered the ring and tended to Angus, who was still unable to find his bearings. In the war between Steelworks and Highland Hell, and the war between the Raiders and Sky Entertainment Ltd., Marshall and Emerson had just given their team a big win.
"Daredevil" Ron Grayson and Lantern vs Ultimate Spider and Teknos
The war between Sky Entertainment Ltd. and The Raiders
would continue on the tag team front as Grayson and Lantern faced off against
the Spider and the very hot Teknos.
Originally, this match was to be El Stingray teaming
with Spider, but Stingray will be out a few more cards after the neck injury
he sustained at the hands of Mauling Bear during the toughman competition.
Teknos would be an adequate fill-in.
The match started with a four way brawl which saw
Spider and Teknos take control. Teknos slammed Grayson to the mat
and then both the luchadors climbed the top ropes and delivered a DOUBLE
flying elbowdrop! Grayson was in trouble, being dazzled by the blazing
speed of the Spider and the skills of Teknos. However, a DDT to Teknos
put Sky Entertainment back in control. Lantern followed up with a
flying headbutt.
This match was high spot after high spot.
Neither team gave an inch until an unfortunate mistake on the part of Lantern.
Lantern had just been knocked outside and was climbing
back into the ring, set to drop Teknos with a springboard dropkick.
Well, Teknos saw the move coming and Lantern hit somebody else...
RON GRAYSON!!!
Grayson hit the mat with a thud. Teknos tried
for a Doctor Bomb, but was countered. Lantern then quickly climbed
up top and hit the Light Beam for a win.
Sky Entertainment Ltd. (Lantern and Ron Grayson)
defeated The Raiders (Teknos and Ultimate Spider) when Lantern pinned Teknos
with the Light Beam in 0:13:37.
Rating: ****
Grayson got up and was livid. Yes, he and Lantern
had won, but Lantern had just whalloped him with a dropkick, and Grayson
was none too pleased. Grayson pushed Lantern and started to verbally
berate him in front of the crowd. However, while Grayson bickered
at Lantern, Spider and Teknos got up and dropkicked both men from the ring.
Sky Entertainment's Director of Personnel sure is
getting pissed off easy lately.
Doomsday w/Extinct vs Alexander "The Grater" w/ Saul Masters
Former teammates. Grater had once worn the Doomsday mask. Doomsday has been Grater's main target since he was booted from the Doomsday Hunters. Add another chapter to a book that looks like it's being re-opened tonight.
Grater, knowing Doomsday's propensity for sneak attacks,
struck first. Entering the ring, he levelled Doomsday with a flying
lariat. Grater kept up the offence early, never allowing Doomsday
to gain a stable footing. Then, out of nowhere, Grater hit the Doomsday
Tornado.
Before Grater could go for the pin, Extinct jumped
onto the apron. Grater whalloped him with a clothesline, but as he
did this, Doomsday got back to his feet. But Grater saw Doomsday
before any damage could be done and floored him with a DDT.
Grater was too fierce. Doomsday was unable
to get any offence going at all until Grater tried to avalanche Doomsday
in the corner. Doomsday side stepped and sent Grater over the ropes
with a lariat. Extinct whalloped Grater with a chair outside the
ring and the momentum was in Doomsday's favour.
It was at this point that Ghost appeared on the
top of the ramp. In his hand, he held a fire extinguisher, the same
weapon Doomsday had used against him at Back Street Brawl. Ghost
was going to keep a close eye on this match.
Doomsday kept it up in the ring, locking Grater
in a bearhug which almost squeezed all the life out of him. Sensing
Grater was primed to go down, Doomsday perched him on the top ropes, preparing
for the Death from Above choke slam.
Grater came to and tossed Doomsday off of the turnbuckles.
Then, Grater flew, delivering a massive flying lariat from the top ropes.
Doomsday was staggered, but he still got back up.
The two men went move for move. Doomsday charged
into the corner with an avalanche, but Grater side stepped. Grater
went for an avalanche of his own, but Doomsday thrust a boot backwards
and hit Grater with a low blow.
Ghost then began to move towards the ring.
Doomsday gave the sign for the Armageddon as Grater
was down. He turned around...and then received a face full of extinguisher
foam from Ghost!!! With Doomsday's vision impaired, Ghost then tossed
the fire extinguisher at Doomsday and it bounced right off of his head.
Grater rolled Doomsday up....but the ref had already called for the bell.
Doomsday defeated Alexander "The Grater" by disqualification
in 0:12:16.
Rating: 3/4*
Grater thought he had won the match...but then he
saw Ghost...and the fire extinguisher...and heard the announcement that
Doomsday had won by disqualification.
That was just about enough for Grater.
The big man from Kentucky went right for the injured
Ghost. Ghost tried to fight back, but it was fairly obvious that
he wasn't one hundred percent after Back Street Brawl. Doomsday tried
to attack both men, but Grater levelled him with a lariat. Skarzz
came down to the ring and aided Grater in clearing the ring.
Grater is pissed again....look out, Ghost....
SMWA Toughman Tournament - Quarterfinal
Match
Nord Fullstrom vs Cody Simmons
Before this match could begin, SMWA Commissioner Jack McCullough came down to ringside.
"Folks, I have some bad news. You will not
be able to see Nord Fullstrom face Cody Simmons tonight. Unfortunately,
Cody's injuries from Back Street Brawl and last week are fairly severe,
so he won't be fighting in the ring for a while."
"Now, if this were a later round match, I'd tally
up points to see who would be the logical substitution. But it's
the first round, and we cannot have somebody wrestling two first round
match. Therefore, I've taken a few offers from SMWA Superstars.
And out of those applications, I chose one man."
"You all know him as the undefeated SMWA Cruiserweight
champion...KODIAK MARMOSET!!!"
The crowd burst into cheers as Kodiak, accompanied by Johnny Proton, came to the ring.
But Kodiak is giving up over one hundred pounds and a few inches in height. Would he be able to deal with the Scandinavian powerhouse?
Round One: Kodiak's first punch is an uppercut,
and it knocks Nord Fullstrom off his feet. Nord gets back up only
to get levelled with a big left hook. One more time up, one more
time down, as the third knockdown came with a flurry of jabs.
What the hell just happened?

SMWA Television Title Match
King Rasta (c) w/Bobby the Monkey
vs Hamish Mactavish w/ The Flying Scotsman
Two big strong men in what was sure to be a brawl
for the television title. Rasta had beaten Hamish's longtime friend
and tag team partner the Flying Scotsman to gain the belt - Hamish would
be out to get Rasta on this one.
This match started fists-afire, Hamish's size and
power slowly giving him the advantage. Rasta hit an eye rake and
tried to come off the ropes. Hamish hit a Diamond Cutter that almost
put Rasta away two minutes in.
At this point, Shadow Maxx slowly made his way down
to ringside, baseball bat in hand. Looks like Maxx was here to...explain
what he had done to Bobby to Rasta. The monkey shrieked in terror
as it saw it's former torturer. Maxx bowed his head.
Hamish kept up the assault. Rasta was able
to retaliate in flurries, but he was Hamish' punching bag for much of this
match. Hamish garnered a near fall with a devastating spinebuster
slam, and then took Rasta up top.
Out came the Scottish Slam.
The referee counted.
1...
2.....
KICKOUT!!! Rasta wasn't going down that easy.
Then, Grant Redstone came out to ringside.
He saw Shadow Maxx, gave him a nod, and stood fast at ringside. Maxx
didn't respond. Looks like Grant also wanted to....explain
his point of view to Rasta.
Hamish whipped Rasta into the ropes, but Rasta rebounded
with his trademark Lou Thez Head Chomp, opening Hamish right up.
Rasta poured on the power and nearly took Hamish out with the Samoan drop/flying
knee combo. Rasta then climbed the ropes and hit the Dread Lock Drop.
Grant Redstone jumped up onto the apron, as did
the Flying Scotsman. On the other side of the ring, Maxx tossed the
baseball bat into the ring - about five feet away from each man.
Rasta got to it first and clobbered Hamish. The ref turned around
and made the count.
King Rasta pinned Hamish Mactavish after hitting
him with a baseball bat in 0:17:20.
Rating: ** 1/2
(King Rasta retained the SMWA Television Title.)
Rasta wasn't done, however. He quickly levelled
Maxx with a baseball slide and, on the other side of the ring, lowered
the boom on Redstone with a flying butt bomb. He called for Bobby
and left the ring.
What was Maxx doing? He didn't attack Rasta
directly, yet seemed to be at ringside with Redstone - or was he.
What was up with Maxx?
********STATEMENT FROM ZANGIEF********
Vell, Itz now official. I'm a part of zis war. Hillzman...you already know what I can do. Gunloc, I've showed you vonce before...in vact, I beat you vithin an inch of your life. I'll do it again tonight. You don't mess vith my frenz, All-Americans. Das Videnias.
*********INTERVIEW WITH THE ALL-AMERICANS********
Nick Jones: I'm here backstage with the All-Americans. Chad Hillsman, Gunloc, you've had the advantage in the War of the Super Powers so far - the two on one advantage. But now Zangief has officially joined forces with Biff Slamkovich. What does this mean to you two.
Hillsman: The fact that Big Red is on the other side is something I'm used to, Jones, so I'll overlook how stupid your question is and just say this. Zangief, I've fought you before and I still got a piece of your mind, pal. My mistake was not totally destroying you all those times I had the chance. So, you stinking commie bastard, if you want to join a losing cause, that's fine with me. Cause there's no way anybody is beating the All-Americans.
Gunloc: I beat your big ass before, Zangief. I pinned you one two three and then you got a hollow win in a flag match thanks to your Uke bastard of a friend. Well, there aren't going to be any flags to throw in tonight. Tonight, the sides go back to two on one when I annihilate you!!!
The War of The Super Powers: Massacre
on Monday Night
Zangief w/ Biff Slamkovich vs Gunloc
w/ Chad Hillsman
The opening shots in this war are still being fired.
Tonight, Zangief joins his fellow Eastern Power Biff Slamkovich officially,
taking on Gunloc one-on-one.
Again, no fancy moves to start this one. On
a night of brawls, Zangief and Gunloc would be no exception. Gunloc
managed to get the edge in this brawl, using the Super Power trademark
Sonic Fists to level Gunloc. A leg lariat nearly knocked Zangief
out of his boots.
Gunloc whipped Zangief to the ropes. Zangief
caught Gunloc with a kick to the midsection and then picked Gunloc up for
a piledriver...a SPINNING PILEDRIVER!!! He only got a two count,
but the move took it's toll on Gunloc.
Oh, and Mike Haggar...that was your move Zangief
just hit.
Zangief poured the power on and Gunloc was in a
bad way. The action went outside, where Zangief was about to hit
a powerbomb through a table. But Chad Hillsman caught Zangief's attention
for a split second and Zangief was backdropped through the table.
Gunloc took the action back inside and used his
speed advantage to keep Zangief off balance. A flying headbutt almost
put the big Russian down, as did a big flying splash. Gunloc then
brought Zangief to his feet and set him up for the Gut Crush.
Zangief bit right in to Gunloc's shoulder and countered
with a backdrop driver. Zangief then gave the sign for the Siberian
Bear Crusher.
Zangief released the hold as Chad Hillsman, not
wanting to let this match end just yet, jumped up onto the apron.
As he argued with the ref, he was reaching into his pocket for something.
The camera saw it - a pair of brass knucks.
Biff Slamkovich saw it, too. He ran over to
the other side of the ring and tackled Hillsman off of the apron.
As Hillsman fell, the knucks were dropped into the ring.
The ref tended to Chad and Biff brawling outside.
Gunloc saw the knucks and crawled over to try and get them. He received
a big stomp to his chronically injured right hand. Zangief had seen
the knucks, too. Quickly kicking Gunloc in the head, Zangief grabbed
the knuckles and levelled his opponent. Hiding the knucks in
his trunks, Zangief went for the pin.

Zangief pinned Gunloc after hitting him with brass
knuckles in 0:13:06.
Rating: *** 1/2
Hillsman protested to the referee, but before any
action could be taken, Zangief and Biff had left the ringside area.
The Eastern Powers had taken this battle.
The war rages on.
"The Cruncher"
Jack Slade vs "The Rebel" Jerry Kent
RING ANNOUNCER: Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest is our main event for the the evening . It is scheduled for one fall with TV Time remaining.
********Jerry Kent's Music Begins********
RING ANNOUNCER: Making his way down the aisle. Weighing in at two hundred and forty seven pounds and hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. Ladies and gentlemen, the six time former SMWA Heavyweight Champion of the World...."The Rebel" Jerry Kent.
Kent came down to his usual chorus of boos and catcalls. Surprisingly, Rick Clark didn't come down to the ring with him. But he is still in the building. Kent and Slade have met before, including the two out of three falls classic at Crash Carnival '98. They've split their matches. Who would come out on top tonight.
RING ANNOUNCER: And his opponent. From the Motor City, Detriot, Michigan. Weighing in at two hundred and fourty one pounds. He is "The Cruncher". Jack Slade!!!
And Jack Slade was NOT accompanied
by Jessica Haggar. Where was she?
If Slade heard the ovation
he was getting, he sure didn't act like it. He ran right into the
ring with the intention of tearing Kent apart.
Kent was ready. As Slade
slid under the ropes, Kent put the boots to him. Kent knew that Slade
was out for blood, so he wasn't going to let him get the edge. A
belly-to-belly took some of the wind out of Slade's sails. Kent then
went for an elbowdrop...which he missed.
Still, Kent was in control.
He whipped Slade into the corner and ran right in. Slade came out
and hit a legsweep faceslam for a very near fall. And the tide of
the match turned.
Slade brawled Kent down.
He hit him with a flying cross body press for a two count. A reverse
atomic drop was followed by a Concussion Bomb bulldog...another two count.
Slade, wanting an early kill, hit a power bomb and then locked on the Cruncher
Crab!
Kent writhed in agony.
Slade's knee was in the back of his neck and his groin was getting stretched
every which way. The move was on. Escape was impossible.
But Kent had help. Rick
Clark charged down to ringside and Slade broke the hold. Before Clark
could even get up onto the apron, Slade rushed at him and nearly knocked
his teeth out with a baseball slide. Kent was getting up.
Slade bounced off the opposite
ropes...but was tripped up by a fan who jumped the guardrail. Slade
lost his footing and staggered forward into a Reb-Driver. The ref
counted.
1....
2......
3!!!
Jerry Kent pinned Jack Slade with the Reb-driver
in 0:10:19.
Rating: *** 3/4
Simply the Best then entered
the ring along with the mystery fan. The fan dropped his hood on
his sweatshirt, and the mystery was quickly over. Turns out Cody
Simmons wasn't in the hospital. He had just cost Jack Slade the match.
Simply the Best beat Slade
down and then tossed him outside the ring and proceeded to celebrate.
Bad move.
Slade grabbed a ringside chair
and whalloped all three members of Simply the Best before they knew what
was coming. But Slade wasn't content to stop there. He kept
beating on all three members, paying special attention to Cody Simmons,
who will probably be back in the hospital by the end of the evening.
Referees and security came
down to the ring, but Slade wouldn't be stopped. He whalloped them,
too. Something inside of Jack Slade had snapped and snapped hard.
Finally, Jessica Haggar came
down to the ring, hopefully to get Slade out before he did something he'd
really regret.
Jerry Kent was getting back
up, so Slade nailed him again. Rick Clark moved, and Slade hit him.
Cody didn't move, but Slade hit him just for the hell of it.
Jessica had finally made it
into the ring and grabbed Jack from behind. She tried to pull him
away.
SLADE SHOVED
JESSICA DOWN!!! And before he knew what he was doing, he raised
the chair above his head....
And stopped when he saw it was Jessica.
A shocked, frightened look
crossed Jack's face. He dropped the chair. He looked at Jessica,
not quite knowing what to make of the whole situation.
Looking worried, bewildered
and just plain shell-shocked, Slade again left the ring without saying
a single word.
Jessica followed behind him
at a distance, tears in her eyes.
The program ended.
