Let's get to the rest of the action.
The California Kid pinned Lovechild after hitting
him with a foreign object in 0:14:09.
Rating: ***
Making his SMWA debut was the California Kid. Coming
to the ring with his surfboard in hand, flashing the "hang-ten " sign to
crowd and dressed in some tattered beach wear, Kid looked psyched, if not
a little silly, for his first big match - against Cruiserweight powerhouse,
Lovechild.
Lovechild took the immediate advantage, using his
power to dominate the surfer. The kid managed to overcome the early
disadvantage by brawling and hitting a few well placed high spots.
An atomic drop and a spinning back fist nearly put Lovechild down for the
count.
The Kid showed his inexperience, however, when he
went up top for a flying clothesline and took time to pander to the crowd.
Lovechild caught him in a big powerslam. Lovechild kept up the power,
so the Kid countered the only way he could. He attacked Lovechild's
arm - by bitting it!!! The Kid then locked on his finisher...sort
of. Grabbing Lovechild's nose, he began to twist - THIS was the California
Death Grip!!! Lovechild countered with a low blow and then picked
Cal up for a running powerslam.
The Kid's legs hit the ref in the face, knocking
him down. Kid countered with a DDT, then grabbed his surfboard from
ringside. He smashed Lovechild over the head and got the win.
A dirty, if not commical, win for the Kid.
Grant Redstone pinned Lantern with the Redstone
suplex in 0:00:31.
Rating: *
Redstone's first match since being released from
jail this Monday. Lantern shouldn't have even showed up. He
hit a dropkick or two, but found himself a victim of a spike slam and the
Redstone suplex.
After the win, Redstone grabbed the mic.
"I don't wanna stick around this 'eap any longa then
I have to. Folks 've been asking me "Grant, why'd ya do it?
Why'd ya attack Raster on Monday. Pretty simple, mates. Back
at 'eatwave in tha summah. Rasta wasn't just fightin' to get 'is
monkey back. He was fighting to keep Maxx out of the Sins, and fighting
to let me keep attacking the Sins. But, apparently, Rasta thought
it was a singles match, cause he sure didn't tag out late in the match,
did he?"
"Rasta, because of you, Saul Masters controlled
my bloody career for two months. He cost me matches, cost me the
Noth American belt, even landed me in jail. All because you were
so damn obsessed with your stupid little monkey. Well, Rasta, I feel
like getting some revenge. But why should I waste my time with Masters
when I can go right at the guy who messed me up in the first place?
Your gonna be in trouble, Rasta. Big trouble."
And with that, Redstone left the ring.
SMWA Toughman
Tournament - Quarterfinal Match
El Stingray
vs Mauling Bear
Talk about a mismatch. The tale of the tape
told all. Stingray - 5'6", 163 lbs. Bear - 6'5", 345 lbs.
Of course, Stingray is a lot quicker and does have a background in judo.
But would it help him against the Bear?
In round one, each man used his respective style
to his advantage. Stingray didn't punch much, but he kept Bear off
balance with his speed, tripping him up a couple of times for ten points
on takedowns. Bear, on the other hand, was able to nail the smaller
Stingray with quite a few punches. The round ended with both men
on their feet.
Round two became more violent. Stingray went
for some sort of flying takedown, but Bear blocked it and Stingray's neck
visibly twisted. He got up slowly, but then was hit with a massive
punch to the nose. Stingray's nose broke and one of his teeth fell
out. The referee stopped the match.

Rokuru pinned The Actor with the Roku driver in
0:07:25.
Rating: ** 1/2
The
man who was the top contender for Kodiak Marmoset's cruiserweight strap
at Back Street Brawl lost to a cruiserweight who hasn't won since MAY!!!
The Teddy Bear of Destruction...pudgy little Rokuru...WOW!!!
Rokuru started early on this
one, switching submission holds the Actor. A flying frankensteiner
nearly put the Actor down early, and Rokuru nearly tore him apart outside
the ring.
Rokuru gave himself a big
hug on the outside - and was clocked by Clone. The Actor regained
a brief advantage with some knee work, but missed a flying legdrop from
the top. Rokuru then whipped The Actor to the ropes, hit the Roku
driver and got the win. Then, Rokuru grabbed the mic.
"Hey, Kodiak. I don't
like the way you've been beating people up. Stop it, okay?
You don't want me and Teddy to come after you. No you don't.
No, no, no...."
SMWA World Tag
Team Title Match
The Philadelphia
X-Treme Machine (c) w/Extinct vs Fuerza Dragon
The red hot Fuerza Dragon would be up next against the always fearsome SMWA World Tag Team champions, the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine. But the big story in this match would be that it would be the first official wrestling match for SMWA legend and new referee "Jumbo" Jack Flap. What a way to make an impact.
Fuerza Dragon were in tough
from the beginning. Slash Battle tossed Hielo around like Rokuru's
teddy bear. He nearly broke him in half with a pumphandle slam on
the outside. Burnz and Battle then took turns attacking Hielo with
various weapons. Jumbo managed to break that up fairly quickly.
Fuego was sick of waiting
on the outside. He ran into the ring levelled Burnz with a spinning
leg lariat. Hielo made the tag, and Fuerza Dragon rocked Burnz with
a double power bomb. Hielo locked on the Freezing Claw and the Fuego
then hit with a flying dropkick. Fuerza Dragon was taking control.
The control ended when a dive
to the outside went way wide and Fuego smashed into a table.
Burnz rolled him into the ring and hit the 3rd Degree.
One, two...KICKOUT!?!?!?
Fuego somehow kicked out of
the 3rd Degree? And just as he did, some old friends of the PXM came
down to ringside...
Alexander "The Grater" and
Skarzz.
Jumbo, realizing this could
get ugly very fast, left ringside. Skarzz took one side of the ring,
Grater the other. Jumbo dealt with Skarzz first, but Skarzz
didn't advance. In fact, he was a decoy. Grater entered the
ring and smashed Burnz with a baseball bat, then leveled Battle and Extinct.
Grater threw the bat in the crowd, Skarzz left Jumbo, and Hielo switched
with Fuego. Hielo hit a flying cradle move and held on.

Titan Tim Redbury pinned Dark Angel with the Claw
Slam in 0:02:55.
Rating: DUD
(Titan Tim Redbury retained the SMWA North American
Title.)
Dark Angel, a member of Sky Entertainment, hit one good move on the leader of the Raiders - a powerbomb outside through a table. But as soon as he got back in the ring, he was caught in the Claw Slam. The Raiders take yet another encounter against the floundering Sky Entertainment.
SMWA Toughman
Tournament - Quarterfinal Match
Nitro vs West
Bronco
The
hot Bronco had Nitro's number early on. In round one, Nitro scored
the first takedown, but then Bronco was all over him, taking him down and
peppering him with eleven punches. A huge cut opened over Nitro's
left eye. At the end of round one, Nitro was a bloody mess.
Bronco came out swinging against
Nitro in round two. The cut on Nitro's head was so bad that the referee
had to stop the match, awarding it to West Bronco.

Unfortunately, Bronco may have hit Nitro too hard. He hurt his elbow and is now gone from the Tournament. His replacement? Likely Akira Wan-Pai, who is the top point getter of those who were eliminated from the tournament.
SMWA Television
Title Match
King Rasta
(c) w/Bobby the Monkey vs Teknos
Teknos secured a huge win over
a former Rasta ally, Shadow Maxx, on Monday. Now, it was Teknos'
chance at glory.
"Jumbo" Jack Flap was the
referee for this match.
Teknos broke out his speed
early and Rasta could't quite cope until the match turned into kicks and
punches. A German suplex nearly put Teknos down, as did a flying
splash.
Teknos managed to backdrop
Rasta outside and hit him with a Super Quebrada. A snap suplex then
put Rasta on his back outside as Bobby the Monkey, still shaken from his
time with the Sins, screamed in horror.
Teknos rolled Rasta inside,
but was leveled by a shoulderblock. Rasta went for another one, but
Teknos was able to counter it with an inverted atomic drop. Teknos
then bounced off the ropes, only to be caught in a press slam. But
Teknos fought his way out of the move and hit Rasta with a DDT. Climbing
the ropes, Teknos hit a prone Rasta with the Teknospinner.

KICKOUT! Rasta almost
lost the title right there. But the move served as a wake-up call,
as Rasta leveled Teknos with a big lariat. He then climbed the ropes
and hit the Dread Lock drop...but Teknos was too close to the ropes.
Rasta went upstairs for the same move, but Teknos took him off the buckles
with a double underhook superplex and followed up with a reverse flying
elbowdrop. Jumbo counted.

2...
DING!!! The bell had
rung, as the twenty minute TV Title time limit had expired. Teknos
petitioned for the match to continue. Rasta chimed right in.
Jumbo, breaking convention, ordered the TV Title match restarted.
The rest of the match was
fairly even. Rasta would hit his power, while Teknos would confound
with his speed. The momentum changed for Rasta when, off the ropes,
he hit his Lou Thez Head chomp. As Teknos staggered to his feet,
Rasta went behind him and hit a German suplex.
King Rasta pinned Teknos after a German suplex
in 0:36:37.
Rating: **** 1/4
(King Rasta retained the SMWA Television Title.)
What a great match for Teknos. Both men shook
hands afterwards, then Rasta grabbed the mic.
"Redstone, I don know what you tink yo talkin bout,
m0n. But you wanna take a piece o' King Rasta!?! I kick yo
big red-haired ass back to Australia! And Shadow Maxx...don tink
I foget about you, mon! You on da list, too."
SMWA Luck of the Draw Match
Doomsday made Strohm Mason submit to a bearhug
in 0:03:02.
Rating: -* 1/2
Jobber
vs Doomsday - no contest. But the match didn't end as fast as it
could have.
Seconds into the match, an
injured, bandaged Ghost came to ringside. Catching Doomsday's attention,
Ghost began unwrapping the bandage from his head - revealing an eye we
couldn't even see, his face was so swollen up. It was a fairly repulsive
bruise, but it had no effect on Doomsday, who proceeded to squeeze the
life out of Mason for the win. But as he had Mason in the bearhug,
Doomsday had his eyes right on Ghost. Ghost solemnly went backstage.
This obviously isn't over.
Biff was wrestling the man
who poisoned the mind of his long time partner Gunloc. He wasn't
going to waste any time.
Biff tore right into Hillsman
from the beginning. But the overzealousness cost him when he went
up top far too early. Hillsman caught him and hit a superplex.
But Biff was still very fresh and managed to turn his weight so he landed
on Hillsman for an early near fall..
Biff took the match outside,
where he tried to hit the Hammer Splash through a table. Chad moved,
and Biff crashed through the table. Hillsman then hit a piledriver
ON THE FLOOR!!!
Hillsman took control with
his power until Biff managed to level Chad with a flying press off of the
ropes. A groggy Hillsman then walked right into a sidewalk slam.
Biff went for a crucifix, but Hillsman wouldn't go down. In fact,
he managed to get Biff in position for the STARS & BARS!!! But
Biff quickly avoided the move with a sunset flip.
Then Gunloc came down to ringside.
Biff hit a Northern lights
suplex for a near fall. A Frankensteiner put Hillsman down again,
and Biff ran into the ropes - ropes Gunloc had just pulled down, sending
Biff flying to the floor in an incident eeriely familiar to Gunloc's attack
on Biff at Heatwave.
Biff wasn't going to sit around
hurt, though. He leveled Gunloc with a lariat and re-entered the
ring. Hitting Hillsman with a Tombstone, Biff then went up top for
a Hammer Splash and connected. But Gunloc was up on the apron, distracting
the ref.
Biff swung at Gunloc, but
Gunloc dropped to the floor. Hillsman then snuck up from behind,
but Biff backdropped him outside. Biff sprung off the ropes and went
for a flying cross body press to the outside.
Gunloc pulled Hillsman out
of the way, sending Biff crashing to the floor. Hillsman then took
the match back inside.
However, The All-Americans
weren't going to get any more chances to attack Biff.
From the back ran Zangief,
who leveled Gunloc on his way to the ring and then smashed Hillsman with
a steel chair. Biff and Zangief had the ring, but the ref had just
called for the bell...
Chad Hillsman defeated Biff Slamkovich by disqualification
in 0:21:55.
Rating: **** 1/4
Chad took this match in the War of the Super Powers
by DQ. But at least Biff now has Zangief on his side. You couldn't ask
for a better partner.
Bunker down for a long war, folks.
