SMWA BACK STREET BRAWL PRIMER

Main Event
Cage Match for the SMWA World Heavyweight Title
Zangief (c) vs Mike Haggar

Haggar and Zangief harbour no deep hatred for each other, but there is a lot of resentment.  While Zangief was dominating shootfights and wrestling matches in Europe, he was always asked the question "Do you think you can beat Mike Haggar?"  And Haggar was always asked "If Zangief ever came to America, would you be able to beat him?"  The question always grated on both men, neither man truly feeling that they could truly be considered the greatest until they beat the other.
In a match during the Tag Team World Cup of Wrestling, Zangief actually PINNED Haggar...but it was a tag team match.  Haggar would then beat Zangief on an edition of Monday Night Massacre...but it was a count out win thanks to Rick Clark.  The two have since met in a triangle match, have teamed up against the All-Americans and Simply the Best, and have faced off in a tag
team encounter.  But these have just been teases, leading up to the real thing.
Since many SMWA superstars would love to make a name for themselves simply by interfering in the match, SMWA Commissioner Jack McCullough has decided to put this match inside of a steel cage.  It's the only way to make sure that the bout is free of interference.  And just to be extra sure, McCullough has declared a yet-to-be-named special ringside enforcer to keep law and order outside.
Zangief vs Haggar...a match for the ages.

ON THE LINE:
The distinction of being the best.  Simple.  Zangief has more to gain, however, having accomplished his success overseas -- a lot of American wrestling fans don't realize all of what he's done.
And this may just be Haggar's last shot at the World Title, so he's going to want to make good.

North American Title vs One Million Dollars
"Titan" Tim Redbury (c) vs Terry Sky ($$$)

Titan won the North American Title while still under the employ of Terry Sky, who immediately offered him money for the belt.  A Claw Slam by Tim answered that question, and Titan has been on his own ever since.
Terry wants that title belt for himself, and with a little bit of help from his new stable, Sky Entertainment Ltd, pinned Titan in a tag team  match.  But Sky has never been a regular singles wrestler, so to convince Titan to put up the belt (though Titan probably would have accepted had a direct challenge been made), he has offered the big man ONE MILLION DOLLARS if he makes a successful title defence.

ON THE LINE:
For Titan, a chance at a LOT of money, but also a chance to prove that he can finally make it on his own.  By beating his former boss, Titan would have finally achieved the freedom he has been looking for.
Sky, on the other hand, has the chance to break away from the tag team mould and become a top singles wrestler overnight.  And with the gold around his waist, it would make Sky Entertainment just that more powerful.  Plus, even though he does have another twenty-four million dollars lying around, he probably wouldn't want to lose one million.

SMWA World Tag Team Titles -- Falls-Count-Anywhere
The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine (c) vs Highland Hell

Not a lot of history between these two teams.  They've each taken shots at each other, trying to cost each other matches.  Both teams, being hardcore as hell, have decided that a falls count anywhere match would be the best way to go.

ON THE LINE:
The Tag Team Titles.  The PXM have a chance to assert their dominance in the tag ranks, while Highland Hell can finally punctuate themselves as a true tag team force.  And again, gold means power for Sky Entertainment.

SMWA Cruiserweight Title
Kodiak Marmoset (c) vs The Actor

The Actor won the right to face Kodiak by winning a Round Robin Tournament.  The Actor has been one of the hottest wrestlers in the SMWA recently, but can anybody dethrone the undefeated Cruiserweight champ?

ON THE LINE:
The Actor has more to gain here, i.e. the Cruiserweight Title.
For Kodiak, this is just another day at the office.  If he wins, well, he was expected to.

The Gauntlet of Sin: Part 4 -- The Monkey vs The Career
King Rasta vs Skarzz

They've been fighting since January.  In May, Skarzz won Rasta's friend and mascot, Bobby the Monkey.  In July, the Sins beat Team Rasta, bringing Shadow Maxx into the Sins, putting Grant Redstone under a court order to stay away from Saul Masters, and forcing Rasta from the SMWA for thirty days.
As soon as Rasta returned, he made his intentions clear -- give me my monkey back!  Master has made Rasta run through every Sin member to get there in a variety of hardcore matches.  Whatever match Rasta has in store for him at Back Street, it's sure to be a doozy.
If Rasta wins, he gets his monkey back, Shadow Maxx is released from the Sins and Grant Redstone is released from jail, where he was put when he attacked Masters a few weeks ago.  If he loses, he's gone.  That's the end of that.

ON THE LINE:
Rasta has everything to lose and gain.  But if he loses, he will never see his friend again.  Skarzz and Masters could deal with the loss, but you just know Masters would love to keep the monkey, if for no other reason than to torment Rasta while he can't do a thing about it.
Plus, it just now seems that Masters is starting to mould Maxx to his liking, and with the way Redstone nearly destroyed Skarzz in the summer, you can bet Saul wants him locked away as long as possible.

Detroit Street Fight
Jack Slade vs Cody Simmons

Things were going great for Jack Slade.  He was TV Champ, one of the most popular wrestlers in the SMWA and had a great relationship with the beautiful Jessica Haggar.
    Then came Cody...
Jessica Haggar's ex is not quite ready to let the love of his life go off with Slade.  He's since attacked Slade, causing him to lose the TV belt, sent gifts and photos (including a nude shot) to Jessica and even sparked an argument between Slade and his friend and mentor, Mike Haggar.
Slade grew up on the streets, as did Cody.  At Back Street Brawl, these two will start their brawl outside of the arena and take it where ever they want.  THAT could be interesting.

ON THE LINE:
For Slade, a chance to get Cody to shut the hell up.  Jack has had it up to here with Cody's behaviour, and is more than willing to beat some sense into him.
While nobody thinks that, if Cody wins, Jess will jump into his arms, a victory would prove to Cody that HE is the better man, and then he could justifiably tell Jess that she is just throwing her life away.  She wont believe it, but Cody would...and Jack might not feel too good about it either.

Tag Team Grudge Match
Biff Slamkovich/??? vs The All-Americans

As the Super Powers, Biff and Gunloc were possibly the greatest tag team in the history of the SMWA.  But, during a feud with the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine, Gunloc became more and more aggressive.  This drove a wedge between Biff and Gunloc, but when Biff left Gunloc to the wolves against the PXM at March Madness, something clicked in Gunloc's head, and the Super Powers would go on to win the SMWA tag titles once again.
But controversy abounded.  The Powers had to beat Titan Tim and El Stingray to get the match at Crash Carnival for the belt, a match the Powers won by default when Stingray and Titan were the victims of a sneak attack backstage.  Biff again began to question Gunloc.
The tag titles were lost a month later to Skarzz and Alexander "The Grater", and that's when the xenophobe Chad Hillsman started to get into Gunloc's head.  Gunloc would later turn on Biff, saying that Hillsman was the only guy that was ever looking out for him.
Biff challenged Gunloc to a match, but Loc said that he and Hillsman are a unit, so Biff better go find a partner.  Whoever it will be, they better be ready to be thrust into a war.

ON THE LINE:
Don't expect this match to be the last shot fired in a feud which has just begun.
Gunloc needs this win to prove to himself that he did the right thing, and the All-Americans need the win to prove themselves in the tag team ranks.
Biff wants revenge, but even if he gets it at Back Street, it's not going to end there.

Circus of Death Match
Alexander "The Grater" vs Clepto the Clown

According to Clepto, Grater attacked him years ago when Clepto hit him in the face with a pie.  Since then, Clepto has trained hard and become a pretty good wrestler.  He has also cost Grater a match with Doomsday and the World Tag Team titles, and recently cost Grater a match to SMWA TV Champion King Rasta.  Clepto then challenged Grater to the Circus of Death match, where the ring would be surrounded by barbed wire and a big clown sized hammer (Clepto calls it his Happy Hammer) will be placed on a pole, each
wrestler trying to get to it first.  Grater was more than happy to accept.

ON THE LINE:
If Grater loses to a clown, no matter how good the clown may be, it'd be a tough pill for the big man to swallow.  Grater wants revenge, but he has to win to keep face.
This is the biggest match of Clepto's short career, and if he can beat Grater, that will open a lot of doors for him.

Doomsday vs Ghost

Arguably, Doomsday is the most dominant force in the SMWA (Skarzz being the other possible candidate).  He's been pinned only by one man, and that's Mike Haggar.  But recently, another player has come onto the field who may be able to challenge for the role of top force.  Ghost has beaten everybody the SMWA has put in front of him and beat the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine in a HANDICAP match a few weeks ago.  Both men have taken turns jumping each other, and threats have been issued.  It's the old order power vs the next wave.

ON THE LINE:
Ghost, with a convincing win, would assume the mantle of the SMWA dominator.
If Doomsday wins, it's another superstar beaten, and it would just add to his aura of destruction.  A loss to Ghost would take that down a notch or two.

I'm Better Than You Submission Match
West Bronco vs Ron Grayson

Both former members of the Doomsday Hunters, Bronco and Grayson briefly tea med up to fight their former employers after they received the boot.
That team didn't work out too well, and West and Grayson have been feuding ever since.
Grayson has since assumed the mantle of head of personnel for Sky Entertainment Ltd., while Bronco has hooked up with the Raiders.  And just to prove who the better man is, this match won't end with the words "I Quit"...it'll end with the words "You're Better Than Me!"

ON THE LINE:
A loss by Grayson would presumably reduce his standing in the eyes of Sky Entertainment.
A loss by Bronco wouldn't hurt him too much. Grayson has always been considered the more talented of these two. Back Street is Bronco's chance to prove everybody wrong.
