Let's get to the matches!
Ron Grayson pinned Lantern with the Shooting Star
Legdrop in 0:02:41.
Rating: **
We started off with one of the final matches in the
SMWA Cruiserweight Contenders Tournament...Ron Grayson vs Lantern, both
of Sky Entertainment Ltd.
What should have been a great match wasn't. Lantern
looked trepid, perhaps remembering what happened to the Actor when he defeated
Grayson a few weeks back. I don't want to say that Lantern threw the bout,
but he really should have been able to roll out of the way of the Shooting
Star Legdrop at TWO MINUTES!!!
But, he didn't, and Grayson got a win which really
means very little in terms of the tournament.
Lantern and Grayson shook hands and then waited for
the rest of Sky Entertainment Ltd., who came into the ring. Terry Sky had
promised some sort of public exhibition...we were about to at least hear
what it was.
"Very nice of all of you to respond to me so enthusiastically
(the crowd was booing). Now, a couple of weeks ago, that 7 footer with
Kieth Richards' burnt out brain challenged me to a Title match at Back
Street Brawl...his title against a million of my dollars. Well, Titan,
if you had accepted my earlier offer, you'dbe getting a lot more than just
a chance at a million dollars. But hey, you're just not that savy of a
businessman, so I'm not going to worry about it. Fine, I'll accept your
little match at Back Street."
"But you know, you're a big guy, and I'm a little
guy...and a lot of folks don't think a little guy like me can beat a big
guy like you. Well, I don't listen to other people all that often. I know
I can beat you, Titan...if that is your real name! So, what I'm going to
do right now is show you how I can over and over again beat bigger guys.
Mauling Bear, let's go."
An official from the SMWA was in the ring to referee the "display" -- all of these matches had been officially signed. Mauling Bear climbed into the ring, and fell pretty easily to a cross body. Mauling Bear then tried for a piledriver, and we could hear Sky yelling "What are you doing!!!", at which point Bear returned Sky to his feet. Sky then hit the Lights Out...1,2,3.
Terry Sky pinned Mauling Bear with the Lights
Out in 0:00:39.

Now, Angel...show me what you got."
Dark Angel entered and was hit with a dropkick and
then the Lights Out...1,2,3.

""Whew, they keep getting tougher....now, uh, Judgement...come
on!"
In a sadly commical moment, Judgement FELL OVER
entering the ring and was hit by the Lights Out...1,2,3!
Terry Sky pinned Judgement with the Lights Out
in 0:00:23.

At this point, the joke was getting tired....like
Sky was pretending to be.
"Oh, man! Almost didn't get that one. Kenji, time
to rumble."
Sky actually looked to be having trouble over Kenji,
diving around the ring like a bad soccer player. Eventually, Sky hit a
big cross body...and the ring filled up with THE RAIDERS!!!
Titan and his friends cleared the ring, with West
Bronco taking an especially large piece out of Ron Grayson, busting his
nose.
The Raiders stood tall as Sky Entertainment left
the ring...and they stuck around for Teknos' match with Ultimate Spider.
Terry Sky defeated Kenji Hashimuto by disqualification
in 0:04:32.
Rating: *
The Raiders were there merely to keep Sky Entertainment
from coming back. But El Stingray kept a VERY close eye on the next match
of Spider vs Teknos. Stingray had spent about a month or two training Spider
in Mexico before he made his debut in the SMWA.
Spider went on the offensive, perhaps trying to
impress his "teacher " right at the start of the match, tackling Teknos
and dazzling him with several high risk moves, including a lovely hurricanrana
that sent Teknos flying over the top rope.
However, back in the ring, Spider missed a big springboard
shoulder and Teknos took control with some great mat skills. Spider was
later able to hit a top-rope Frankensteiner, a shooting star press and
a great flying elbow, but it only took a Doctor Bomb and a Teknospinner
from Teknos to put Spider down after he missed a missile dropkick.
Teknos pinned Ultimate Spider with the Teknospinner
in 0:09:49.
Rating: **** 1/4
Stingray entered the ring and helped Spider up. He shook his hand and helped him up to his feet. The two embraced...it looks like Stingray may want the youngster in the Raiders, for however long they may last.
Ghost pinned The Flying Scotsman with the Final
Breath in 0:08:15.
Rating: *** 3/4
The Flying Scotsman was just coming off a paltry
six-day TV Title reign. Ghost beat the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine the
week before on Massacre. It wasn't tough to realize who had the hotter
hand coming into this match.
It was a brawl. Scotsman took control early by spearing
Ghost with the Scottish Flag, but Ghost was able to rock TFS with a great
spinning DDT. The Scotsman did lock on the Scottish Breaker, but it was
too close to the ropes, and Ghost escaped.
TFS then went up top to hit his sommersault headbutt....Ghost
rolled out of the way and hit the Final Breath for the win.
Quickly, Highland Hell was in the ring, attacking
Ghost. But as Ghost held off these three men, in came the Doomsday Hunters
who took out both Ghost AND Highland Hell. Sky Entertainment then entered,
but Doomsday and the PXM held them off.
The DH aren't playing around. They didn't want Ghost
and the Highlanders to forget who they were facing on Sunday.
Well, here's how the next match worked. If The Actor won, he'd be undefeated in the Contenders tournament and would go on to BSB to face Kodiak Marmoset. If Lovechild won, he'd be tied with the Actor, but would have beaten him, therefore it would be him that advanced. This was the money match, folks. Not a lot of risks early on, with each man realizing what exactly was at stake in this match. The edge went to Lovechild when he hit a crotch slam early, but it didn't last long as The Actor was able to connect with a backdrop driver and then with a flying sommersault legdrop for a very close two count. The action spilled outside, where Lovechild took control by throwing the Actor into the guardrail, then hitting him with an enzuigiri which sent Actor into the guardrail again! Ouch! Lovechild went back in the ring and went up top, but was caught. The Actor hit him with a Frankensteiner from the buckles. The Actor then tried to hook on the Take Four, but Lovechild was far too close to the ropes. But as Lovechild got up, Actor hit him with two dropkicks to the knee and locked the move on in mid-ring...there was no place to go.
The Actor made Lovechild submit to the Take-Four
in 0:14:38.

Undefeated, The Actor wins the Cruiserweight Contenders Tournament. Next stop is Kodiak Marmoset on Sunday.
Coming down to the ring next was Alexander "The Grater".
"Hey, I don't know if anybody remembers and gives
a damn, but back in June, me and Skarzz won the Wild Card tournament, and
that means we can ask for title shots whenever the hell we wanted. Well,
tonight I want a damn shot at King Rasta and his TV Title...I got the right,
so give me the damn match."
And "Jungle Boogie" started on the PA and King Rasta
came down to the ring, ready for a match!
This match was a brawl, with two of the most vicious,
most powerful men in the SMWA going head to head. Rasta took an early lead
with a big neckbreaker and a couple of high splashes. A flying bulldog
almost made Grater's challenge a moot point.
The action spilled outside... Where Grater CREAMED
Rasta with a DOOMSDAY TORNADO. He rolled Rasta back into the ring and the
ref counted 1 2 Thr....kickout!!! Rasta was already hurting, but as if
Grater wasn't enough, out came the rest of the Sins to help Grater out!
They just stood and watched for the first bit, as Grater was absolutely
dominating Rasta, who had taken a nasty hit to the head. But before Grater
could gain too large of an advantage, a very colourful character came out
of the stands...
CLEPTO THE CLOWN!!!
Grater ran into the ropes, Clepto yanked them down
without the ref noticing, and Grater spilled outside. Before Grater could
get to him, the Sins MOBBED Clepto!!! They beat him down and then left
him for dead.
Grater kept at Rasta, hitting him with a power bomb
and a flying elbow that nearly did it. A moonsault was met by Rasta's knees,
but Rasta was too tired to capitalize on the miss. Grater continued his
onslaught, hitting Rasta with a devastating DDT.
Grater Gorilla pressed Rasta to the outside and
tried to distract the ref as the Sins tried to anihilate him. It had become
very obvious at this point that the challenge by Grater was just a way
to give Skarzz a shot at the Rasta before their big match on Sunday (though
what that says about Grater & Masters' association is up in the air).
The ref caught Skarzz, and immediately ushered all
of the Sins back to the dressing room. As the Sins were being moved back,
Grater had Rasta ready for the Doomsday Tornado. Clepto, who had somewhat
recovered from his beating, pulled a giant CLOWN HAMMER from under the
ring and smacked Grater in the back. Leveling Grater with a Soviet Suplex,
Clepto then hid outside the ring again. The ref made his way back and saw
Rasta climb the ropes and hit the Dread Lock Drop.
King Rasta pinned Alexander "The Grater" with
the Dread Lock Drop in 0:08:05.
Rating: ** 3/4
(King Rasta retained the SMWA Television Title.)
Clepto grabbed the mic and then issued a challenge
to Grater.
"Hey, see how much I own you, Grater? Well, I'll
have a chance to do it again!!! You say you're so big and DAMN TOUGH!!!
Well, how about you step into my world. You see this big Happy Hammer?
How about we put this on a pole, and you and me try and hit each other
with it? And we'll put barbed wire around the ring and call it a Circus
of Death match!!! And how about we do it this Sunday..."
Grater was getting up, had heard Clepto, and was
charging him.
"Well, you're running at me. Should I take that
as a YE-E-S!!!"
Clepto ran from Grater as fast as his big red shoes
could carry him.
Main Event
Four Way Crash
The All-Americans vs Simply the Best vs Mike
Haggar and Jack Slade(?) vs Zangief and a mystery partner
Still no word on Jack Slade. Nobody knows if he's even in the building. The All-Americans came out first to their usual chorous of boos and cat-calls. They didn't look too concerned.
Next came Simply the Best, looking unconcerned and
flippant as usual. When these two teams were in the ring, Chad Hillsman
grabbed the ring mic.
"Okay, Zangief, why don't you bring out your tag
team mystery partner, who we all know is going to be Biff Slamovich, and
we can get this started."
With that Zangief's music started, and sure enough, behind him was Biff Slamkovich...but Biff and Zangief each stepped to one side of the entrance...and from the middle came "TITAN" TIM REDBURY!!! Zangief had thrown the All-Americans (and everybody) a big curveball.
Next out came Mike Haggar...alone. Whatever argument he and Slade had had, it was obviously enough to tear them apart for tonights match.
The bell rang. And then, the familiar piano chords of Van Halen's "Right Now" started to play. And down the aisle came Jack Slade. He got in the ring, gave Haggar a handshake and a big hug, and the bout started.
Haggar and Titan were first in, with Haggar having a bit more success in getting around Titan than Zangief did on Saturday.. Titan got a tag in to Zangief within minutes, and the crowd errupted! Haggar and Zangief went at it, power for power, until Haggar wisely tagged to Jack Slade, effectively double teaming the big Russian. There will be time for one-on-one matches this Sunday. Zangief tagged to Jerry Kent, and Jack Slade would be stuck in the ring for the next EIGHT minutes, getting beat on by everybody in that ring, with the exception of Mike Haggar. Slade took everything from everybody until Gunloc missed a plancha to the outside, allowing Slade the tag to Haggar. Mike tore right in to his former ally, who eventually made the tag to Chad Hillsman. But then, in a shock, Haggar tagged to ZANGIEF! And for the next few minutes, these two double teamed Hillsman with textbook precision. Zangief crushed Chad with a big powerslam. He then hit Hillsman with a big spin kick and an avalanche that knocked all the wind out. Zangief went for the cover...and took a chair to the back by Gunloc. The All-Americans were disqualified.
Haggar was next in the ring, and he and Zangief waited just those extra few seconds before they decided that nothing else mattered. These two powerhouses tore into each other with fists, lariats, and power galore. Both backdropped their way out of their opponents finishers, and neither man would give. The two moved closer to the ropes. Seeing an opportunity, Simply the Best dumped both of these men outside. So obsessed were Haggar and Zangief with their fight that they didn't notice the ref counting to ten.
Four Way Crash:
Simply the Best defeated The All-Americans, Zangief
and Titan Tim Redbury and Mike Haggar and Jack Slade:
x Zangief beat Hillsman via disqualification
in 0:24:16
x double countout (Haggar
and Zangief) in 0:32:18
Rating: ** 1/4
The brawl continued, with chairs and bells and tables now being fair game. But it would not last long. Out from the crowd came Cody Simmons, who yanked Jack Slade off the apron. Sky Entertainment came out from the back and attacked Titan outside. Zangief and Haggar were brawling until Haggar floored Zangief and noticed Cody and Slade brawling. As Haggar went over, The All-Americans returned and attacked Zangief. The Raiders came out to help out Titan. Biff Slamkovich ran out from the back and helped Zangief. Hillsman took Zangief and irish whipped him towards the crowd of Haggar, Cody and Slade. Zangief sprawled into Haggar, and Mike decided to let Cody and Jack go as he again brawled with Zangief. The program ended with the camera on these two icons as the ringside area was full of nearly twenty wrestlers doing battle.
