Saturday Night Slam Masters
08/08/98

To start SNSM off, we had an interview with the NEW North American Champion, thebig Brit himself, Titan Tim Redbury.

Well, we would have liked to have talked to Titan but Mr. CEO Terry Sky was moreinterested in something else.

Before Titan could respond to any question Nick Jones might have asked him, Sky jumped in and started talking. "Didn't I tell you this guy was a star!!! What aguy! He brought the North American belt to Sky Entertainment Ltd., and I could not be happier. Now, Titan, about your fee...how much will it cost you to part with that belt?"

Titan was silent, waiting for the punchline. When it didn't come, Titan spoke up. "You're being serious, Terry. You want to BUY the title from me".

"Yeah, that's right Titan. I mean, you did a great job winning it, so you do deserve a bonus anyway, but you're my body guard...I can't have you distracted with title defenses when I need you by my side. So, what's your selling price?"

Titan stared at Sky in disbelief "You're bloody serious? My GOD Terry".

Sky was either oblivious to the tone of Titan's voice or didn't care. "Okay, I see where you're coming from...you need more TIME to figure this out, right? That's fine. I don't need the answer now. Besides, I got a match later tonightagainst El Stingray. So, don't give me the answer now...sit on it and you can get back to me. Okay?".

"Well, Terry...I'll 'sit on it'....you'll get your answer tonight".

Titan then left the ring, Sky playing catch-up.

Shadow Maxx made Ultimate Spider submit to a Texas Cloverleaf in 0:09:54.

Shadow Maxx again grudgingly reported for duty as a Sin. Masters had him take on Ultimate Spider, with Blackhook standing at ringside with Bobby the Monkey in a cage. Spider was his usual game self, but he seemed to have forgotten that Maxx can fly with the best of them when he has to. A few well placed counters, a couple power moves and a Cloverleaf put Spider out. Maxx left the ring without looking at or, as usual, saying a word to Masters.

West Bronco defeated Judgement by disqualification in 0:16:58.

Ron Grayson came down to ringside for this match and made West Bronco's life hell as many times as he could...but it wasn't enough. West came through, and then jumped Grayson after the match as the former Doomsday Hunter stablemates fought into the night.

The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine beat Pain & Agony when Slash defeated Nitro by countout in 0:05:26.

PXM vs P & A. Hardcore...yes! Hard...not for Battle and Burnz. They ran rightover the beleagured team of Nitro and Tex, hitting them with tables, trash, and anything else the could find. When both Crash and Battle drove the Pain & Agony members through two tables, that was it. The PXM keep winning. And let'snot forget they do hold a win over current champs Grater and Skarzz, albiet by DQ.

Cody Simmons pinned Rokuru after a flying dropkick in 0:06:20.

If Rokuru was expecting a wrestling match, he fought the wrong guy. In his official SMWA debut, Cody Simmons used his boxing and martial arts skills to bust Rokuru up. The cruiserweight was hit by a bat, a judo toss and a great spin kick on route to being pinned after a flying dropkick. If Cody and Jack Slade wrestle, Cody could be BIG trouble.

And on that note, Cody grabbed the mic. "Hey, Jess...Jack...don't worry. I'm going home now. I won't be around for the rest of the night, okay? Don't worry If there was nothing to worry about, why would Cody say don't worry...

Los Dragones beat Gestalt and Quasar when Fire Dragon pinned Gestalt after spinning headscissors into a cradle in 0:18:33.

Los Dragones are a damn fine, damn exciting team. One has to wonder why they are stuck in the mid card and why they can't beat the higher ranked teams. In this match alone, the dominated the upstart team of Quasar and Gestalt with moves like a back suplex/superkick combo, a double power bomb and the Flying Double Dragon. Quasar and Gestalt had their moments, but not enough of them to win. So, the question is, what's holding Los Dragones up?.

Teioh pinned Dark Angel after an Asai moonsault in 0:09:19.

So, who is the "dark" one...Teioh had the advantage all match against Dark Angelor rather, was never at a disadvantage. Teioh did his ritual one-minute of meditation in the middle of the ring and went to work. Dark Angel never stood achance. Let's just say that the Angel's star...for the moment...has fallen.

Jack Slade pinned Kenji Hashimuto with the Spiked DDT in 0:16:33.
(Jack Slade retained the SMWA Television Title)

Jack Slade continues to put on great matches! Kenji Hashimuto was able to hold his own by overpowering Slade at times and using submissions to wear him down, but when he missed a moonsault and had a backdrop driver reversed into a reverse DDT, Hashimuto wasn't going anywhere. A Spiked DDT did it again.

Slade also has to be commended by not being distracted by the HUGE wreath of flowers which was brought to ringside by an attendant with "For Jessica" writtenon it. After the match, Slade looked at the display and turned to Jessica. "Youhaven't talked to him yet, have you?"

Jessica shook her head "The scary thing is I did".

"Well, looks like we have to sit him down again. You wanna keep these, or do weleave them for the next match?".

Jessica, wanting neither, whispered a suggestion in Slade's ear. Slade grabbed the wreath and gave it to an old lady at ringside, who was not named Jessica butwas overjoyed anyway. Jack rolled his eyes as he left ringside hand in hand with Jessica.

Special Six-Man-Tag Match:
Highland Hell and Lantern beat Los Viajeros Dos Mil and Naga Yajito when Hamish made Yajito submit to the Scottish Breaker in 0:26:53.

I don't think Highland Hell or Los Viajeros would have known what to do with theflowers anyway. It was another vicious match between these two factions...and Highland Hell won AGAIN because they know how to cheat. This time, it was the work of Angus Wallace, who shoved Naga Yajito off of the turnbuckle in the midstof a six man brawl. Los Viajeros have to fight dirtier, or they are going to lose this war...SOON.

Peter McKee pinned Mad Jack after an armlock leglock submission in 0:03:53.

Another disapointing Luck of the Draw match. Pete McKee beats jobber Mad Jack. The Luck of the Draws will go until the next Slam Masters, but will be dumped if they don't start producing quality matches.

El Stingray pinned Terry Sky after a standing moonsault in 0:04:11.

SuperStars Inc. has obviously been disolved, but El Stingray proved that he may have been better off working for himself than hooking up with Sky Entertainment Ltd. He DOMINATED Terry Sky. Sky was victim to two SuperStar presses on the outside, a moonsault inside, several frankensteiners and a backbreaker. Stingraydropkicked Sky outside, where Titan helped him to his feet. Terry was frantic.

"Tim, you gotta help me out here!".

Titan responded with a Claw Slam to the floor. He rolled Sky back into the ringwhere Stingray pinned him. Titan then entered the ring, shook hands with his old Platoon partner and then grabbed the mic.
"Hey Sky! I sat on it. My price is 25 million-and-one dollars...and that's ONE MORE DOLLAR THAN YOU BLOODY GOT!"
With that, Titan and Stingray left, with Sky in the middle of the ring.

Word is there is going to be a HUGE main event this Monday...so big that you arenot going to dare DREAM of missing it.

Trust me....IT'S BIG.
