Monday Night Massacre
July 27, 1998

A night of explanations and a few more questions left unanswered.

Starting off the night was an interview with the NEW World Champion, Zangief.

"Zis has been a dream of mine ever since I started to restle. I've been througha lot over ze past few months. The first thing I want to do is to dedicate zis title to my mother...I've done it, mom! I know you can hear me up zere in the heavens...thank you for everything, and I'm sorry I couldn't be there. Love you."

With that, Zangief quickly changed his tone to one of all business and brought started to talk about what everybody was waiting for...Mike Haggar.

Zangief spoke about how he's always admired Mike Haggar, but hated the constant comparisons he recieved with Haggar while he was wrestling in Europe.
"People called me the Russian Mike Haggar. If I vas not kept in Russia for all of zoze years in ze Cold War, they'd be calling Mike Haggar ze American Zangief."
And with that, the new North American Champion came out to confront the World Champ. Haggar grabbed the mic.
"You know, Zangief...I heard the comparisons here too. Stuff about this Russian giant who wrestled the Siberian bears, who travelled the world, taking on all comers, street fighting...hear you got your but kicked a few times too. You're the World Champ, now. Congratulations. Back Street Brawl...I'll beat ya." .

Zangief laughed.
"I think not comrade Haggar. You zee, you are not ze wrestleryou used to be, or else Rick Clark would never have beaten you for zis belt in the first place. You've lost a step, but hey, you've done it all. Really, Mike...how comitted are you to winning the World Title."
Haggar paused, and then held out his North American belt.
"How comitted am I, Zangief. Well, I'm already the number one contender, so...I officially FORFIET the North American Title so I can pursue your World Title belt.".
"Ha! You call yourself committed, yet you throw away vat ozer wrestlers would do anything to win. You're giving up, Haggar!".
"Nope. Just setting bigger goals for myself.".
The two engaged in a stare down, Zangief being the first to talk.
"Vell...good luck to you zen." And with that, Zangief left the ring.

After this interview, we recieved two statements. One, Jack McCullough said that he was disappointed that Mike Haggar decided to forfeit the North American Title...but there wasn't anything he could do about it. So, next week, there will be a battle royal for the title. "The ten top SMWA stars will be there"

The other announcement came from the announce crew, stating that Chad Hillsman and Gunloc were coming to the arena tonight at some point. Their attack, well, GUNLOC'S BETRAYAL landed Biff in the hospital some torn cartilage in his knee. Tonight, Gunloc could explain his actions.

Naga Yajito made Lantern submit to the Sunfire Stretch in 0:13:37.

The members of Highland Hell and Los Viajeros were kept backstage in different rooms for the Naga Yajito vs Lantern match-up to avoid interference...and it's agood thing there was no interference, as Naga vs Lantern was a good match. It was Naga's turn to shine tonight, as he employed a flawless ground game to lock on the Sunfire Stretch for the submission win...but after the match, Naga would not let go.

Well, the Highlanders would have none of this, as the three of them broke down the door of their locked room and charged the ring. Naga was able to escape, but the damage to Lantern had already been done.

Crash Burnz defeated Ron Grayson by countout in 0:08:33.

Due to their inability to team effectively last night against the PXM, Bronco and Grayson, after their split last night, decided to take on the members of the PXM on seperately. Grayson was up first, facing Crash Burnz. It was an aerial encounter with lots of Hardcore provided by Burnz, but Grayson was committed to beating his former stablemate. Unfortunately, West Bronco had other plans. As Grayson was getting into the ring, Bronco took him head first into the ringpost, getting Daredevil counted out.

Shadow Maxx pinned Nitro with the Dark Bomb in 0:02:20.

Saul Masters was a happy man. Aside from the fact that his old charge Nitro was again defeated by a Sin, Masters had several things to celebrate. One, Shadow Maxx was now a member of the Sins, although you could tell that he didn't want to be in the least. Two, Grant Redstone can no longer wrestle any Sin members. Three, King Rasta is gone from the SMWA for thirty days, so Masters can now take Bobby the Monkey where ever he pleases. He has made Blackhook the official protector of Bobby, but he could tell Shadow Maxx was not too keen on letting him keep the primate by the way the silent warrior looked at the cage.

Masters gave Maxx an ultimatum "I can tell you don't like me, Maxx. Give it time, you'll learn to love me. In the mean time, if you so much as think about taking that monkey out of my posession...well, let's just say that I can't be responsible if Blackhook were to, say, misplace him or make him disappear."

With that, Maxx slapped Masters, but made no move towards Bobby. Maxx's hands are tied.

Skarzz and Alexander "The Grater" beat The Dream Team when Skarzz pinned McKee after a waistlock suplex in 0:28:25.
(Alexander "The Grater" and Skarzz retained the SMWA World Tag Team Titles)

Skarzz was hit with the Dream Killer early...he just sat up and kept on fightingagainst the Dream Team. Grater also did a good job against the Dream Team...butwhen Clepto the Clown came down to ringside and threw another pie in his face, this one not filled with brick, Grater left what was turning into a very intensetag team title match. It looked hopeless for Skarzz as he was left with the twoDream Team members...but he STILL WON!!! I wonder what Skarzz and Masters think about Grater chasing a clown around the arena.
