Monday Night Massacre
06/29/98

Another great night with Rick Clark as champion. He's acting like an total overachieving jerk, now demanding an interview at the start of each Massacre, but he has been a great fighting champion.

Tonight, Clark came out and discussed a topic which really bothers him...lack of respect towards cruiserweights. Clark, himself, is a cruiserweight but refused to fight in the division because of the lack of respect its competitors get. "These guys work their asses off, more than any heavyweight, and what happens to them? They get to wrestle at the start of the Pay-Per-View, but by the time the overhyped main event is over, nobody remembers the best match of the night was the first one".

"So, with that in mind, I'd like to offer a shot at my World Heavyweight title to the cruiserweight champion...JOHNNY PROTON! And that will be THE main event"

Clark is going to give this kid Proton a shot...what an opportunity for the up-and-coming Cruiserweight champ.

First up, two other young stars fought as Jack Slade defended his TV Title in a bout with West Bronco. Bronco was grudgingly accompaignied to the ring by his "ally" Ron Grayson. The match started out very evenly, with neither man trying to get the win too fast...but Bronco tried to do just that with a Tombstone VERY early on. Grayson yelled "It's too early" and it was as Slade reversed the moveinto a Tombstone of his own. Slade had the advantage for most of the match at that point, barring a few high-spirited flurries by Bronco. Slade hit the his Spiked DDT, but Ron Grayson saved Bronco by putting his foot on the ropes. He then woke Bronco up, got him to his feet and gave him a HARD slap on the back,  telling West "Go get 'em, Tex". Bronco stumbled forward into a spinebuster bomb and was pinned.

Grayson was irate, but coming to the ring to celebrate the win was Slade's own "desciple", Charlie Angel. Angel jumped into the ring and hugged Slade, who didnot want any congratulations. Slade argued with Angel, with Jessica Haggar getting right into Charlie's face...as Grayson consoled Bronco telling him "We can do this! We don't need Extinct!" Grayson then grabbed the mic.

"Hey, you Slade and Charlie. Look, me and my pal West here are looking to get a little work in as a tag team. So how about next week, you guys team up against us? How's that?".

Angel grabbed the mic and yelled "It would be my honour to team with the Chosen One!"

Slade, on the other hand wasn't going to do it.

"Whoa, this guy is NOT my partner, Grayson. I don't even know what he's talking about half of the time."

Slade and Jessica left the ring, but Grayson wouldn't let it drop. He started the crowd chanting "SLADE! SLADE!...WE WANT JACK!" As Jessica and Slade left, we could hear Jessica suggest "Look, maybe we should just do it and be done."

Who knows what Slade will do.

Next, Andrew Marshall was slated to go up against Titan Tim to settle up their grudge from Slam Masters: Wild Card. But, Terry Sky told Marshall that he had a prior engagement at a dinner someplace and needed a bodyguard.

"But don't you go and worry, Andy! I used a bit of my $25 million to buy a replacement Titan and even got a manager for him! So, ladies and gentlemen, the CEO and owner of Sky Wrestling presents...Titan Clone and Ron S. Sky!!!".

Out came F-X, with Clone dressed just like Titan (and wearing platforms to do something about the height difference), and the Actor dressed like Sky! Andrew was none too pleased, but before he could do anything about it, Clone was all over him.

It was a good encounter, but you could tell Marshall was none too happy about his opponent being changed on him. However, Clone was not too toughof a task, especially near the end.

Marshall was dominating when Actor yelled to Clone "Our match is up next, Clone. We gotta go back and change." Clone left the ring and Marshall was left with a win by countout.

F-X then faced off against Los Viajeros Dos Mil in a great high-flying match. Actor knows how to go Lucha Style, but Clone wasn't lost either. A double powerbomb by F-X came close to ending it, as did three double flying forearms by Los Viajeros. There was a spot when Clone bombed IS-2000 through a table and KOed him, forcing BC-2000 to take the tag as IS-2000 was incapacited. It was at this point that Highland Hell came to ringside. Angus hit BC-2000 with For William on the outside and rolled a groggy BC into the ring...where he was beaten. The Highlanders left the ring laughing at their smaller enemies, proving to be quite a group of bullies.

Next, Alexander "The Grater" fought half of the PXM Falls-Count-Anywhere style! Grater and Crash Burnz were in the ring for about 45 seconds this match...30 at the start, 15 at the end. Grater dominated for the most part and got the win

Grater had little time to soak in the victory.  He was quickly attacked by Doomsday and Slash Battle. He fought all of them off and then found RON GRAYSON and WEST BRONCO standing at his side! They both acted tough, like they were helping Grater out...but Grater just grabbed the mic and told the two..."Would you two kids get some balls and stop trying to get my help GODAMMIT!!!" Then he left.

    Hour two...GRANT REDSTONE VS SKARZZ.

These two men are undefeated and were destined to have a hell of a match...but the Sins kept mugging Redstone outside the ring. Right off the bat, Glutt got Redstone's attention, allowing Skarzz to his the Skarring THROUGH A TABLE!!!
Grant had a lot taken out of him by that move, but fought on bravely. Blackhook and Glutt kept on interfering, hitting Vader attacks and DDT's on the outside, but they could not keep Redstone down. In fact, once Redstone got back in the ring, he leveled Skarzz. As Skarzz sat up, Redstone growled at him and the bout got VERY intense. Redstone hit his Redstone suplex for a NEAR FALL, but in a collision afterwards, the ref was KOed. This allowed the Sins to attack Grant and allowed Skarzz to hit the Skarring again...and when the ref woke up, Grant Redstone was PINNED for the FIRST TIME!!!

Skarzz pinned Grant Redstone with the Skarring in 0:12:59.

Skarzz suffered a back injury. He will be out for approximately 4 cards.

Then, as if nothing had happened, REDSTONE GOT UP AND CLEARED THE RING!!!  He then hit the Redstone suplex on Skarzz THREE TIMES!!! King Rasta and Shadow Maxx weren't in the building, but they did not have to be. Redstone was a wrecking crew.
And the big news was SKARZZ GOT HURT!!! His back is hurt and Masters is going to keep him under wraps until it heals. Wow...

The Super Powers then came out to address their tag title loss to Grater and Skarzz (who have not defended the titles yet) Both men seemed optimistic that the belts would be around their waists soon enough. And, on another note, Gunloc told Zangief "Don't worry about helping Biff with Hillsman, Zanger...he's got all the help he needs right here".

Well Chad Hillsman was up next and, after disposing of the German Gestalt, took the mic and called Gunloc a "traitor to his country!" and challenged him to a bout this Saturday on a special Fourth of July Slam Masters!!! Gunloc heard from the back and accepted.

Next, Hillsman's old nemesis Zangief had no trouble with the young Kenji Hashimuto, KOing him with a kneelift for the pin. He then decided to sit back and, as per usual for the big Russian, do colour comentary with the crew.

"I'm not a big dumb Russian, comrade. Give me a headset, I'm calling the title match with Clark if you like it or not!".

Main Event
SMWA World Title Match
"Tricky" Rick Clark (C) vs Johnny Proton

Well, Clark vs Proton was an excellent bout. Clark earlier spoke about how the cruiserweights get no respect...well, apparently Clark didn't respect Proton at all because he went for the Sky-Driver WAY too early and was nearly PINNED for the World Title with a small package counter. Proton took over with a beatiful power bomb/slingshot splash combo and a corkscrew plancha. Clark was fighting and uphill battle all match, but he finally got some headway after locking on some painful submission moves. Then, the action went outside and got VERY down and dirty. Clark took Proton repeatedly to the post and ring steps in what had been a purely technical match, even going so far as to bodyslam him on the ring steps. Zangief would have no part of this and told Clark "Get him in the ring, champ." Clark did, and a Sky-Driver put an injured looking Proton down for the count.

Johnny Proton injured his leg.  The extent of the injury has yet to be assesed.

Clark continued to attack the fallen Proton, attacking Proton with abandon.  He kicked at Proton's leg, which seemed to have been injured, and was about to lock on a figure four before he saw Zangief rising to his feet on the outside.  Afterwards, Zangief entered the ring to look after the fallen cruiserweight. Clark grabbed the mic, accused Zangief of "Stealing his thunder" and walked off.

The Cruiserweight Champion had gotten his shot...but he was hurt and hurt badly.  Zangief stood post in the ring as Proton was helped out by medical attendants.  He had his chance at glory, but boy did he pay for it!  What will happen to him?

This Saturday, there will be a few big matches worth talking about on our Four of July special.

Zangief vs Jerry Kent for the North American Title.
Gunloc vs Chad Hillsman.
Mike Haggar vs an as yet undetermined opponent.
And Rick Clark defending the World Title against an opponent of his choosing.
