Cruiserweight Title Match
Ultimate Spider (c) vs Johnny Proton

Back at March Madness, Johnny Proton was forced to relinquish his cruiserweight title due to injury.  Tonight was his shot to get it back.
Spider proved to be a very game opponent, however.  In fact, after 40 seconds, it seemed as if Spider had got the win after a  beautiful missle dropkick...but Proton barely got his shoulder up before the three.  Johnny  was having to deal with something he's never dealt with before...a faster
opponent.  Spider dazzled Proton with speed unlike anything we've ever seemed and never let up.  And midway through the match, Johnny was caught holding  his elbow.  Finally, Proton got a breather when Spider missed a breath taking  dive to the outside.  Then, out of nowhere, WHAM, the Proton kick.  Proton  rolled Spider back into the ring, but the match was far from over.  Johnny
hit a Northern Lights suplex for a near win, but Spider came so close to  retaining the title with a flying sunset flip.  From there on, the next  minute of the match was a beautiful display of counter wrestling.  Ultimate Spider then went for a lariat, but Proton ducked, grabbed Spider's arm and
pulled back for all he was worth...

Johnny Proton made Ultimate Spider submit to an armbar submission in 0:14:57.
Rating: ****3/4
(Johnny Proton won the SMWA Cruiserweight Title)
Johnny Proton suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 2 cards.

NEW CHAMPION.  Needless to say, the crowd was really into this match.  Proton has already hurt himself again, however.  Let's hope he can stay healthy and have a long title reign.

Teknos vs Jean DuPuis

They had met twice before, both matches ending in a draw.  Now they had a chance to settle up in front of  a worldwide audience.
The match was a beautiful mix of styles, with the luchador Teknos vs the mat specialist DuPuis.  Teknos nearly got the win with a top rope Frankensteiner and escaped the dreaded reverse figure four of DuPuis.  When Jean took an unsual risk  from the top, Teknos moved out of the way and hit the Teknospinner corkscrew press.

Teknos pinned Jean DuPuis with the Teknospinner in 0:20:32.

Highland Hell w/The Flying Scotsman vs Greed & Gluttony w/ Saul Masters

Huge pop for Highland hell as, leading the way to the ring for them was THE FLYING SCOTSMAN, waving the flag of his home country.  The match itself, however, was the low light of crash carnival.  Both teams put on a great effort, but Glutt just isn't a great worker.  He did, however, get a big crowd response when he used his 500 lbs to powerslam Hamish THROUGH A TABLE, to which Blackhook followed up with a flying headbutt.  But, the Highlanders fought back and, as a brawl errupted, Angus locked a clawhold on Glutt.  Saul Masters jumped up on the apron...but was KICKED off by the Scotsman, who certainly helped his friends tonight.

Highland Hell beat Greed and Gluttony when Wallace made Glutt submit to a clawhold in 0:11:01.
Rating: 1/4*

Highland Hell now has a third member.

UFC Cage Match: The Great Oni vs Akira Wan-Pai

The SMWA brought one of Japan's top shoot referees in for this bout. The attendants set up the special eight-sided cage.  The rules: You win by KO or submission.
This was the Great Oni's shot to show he can still go, and Akira Wan-Pai's biggest match ever.
Oni jumped Akira during pre-match bows. He hit Akira with all of his martial arts know how and then squashed him with a cross body press against the cage. Akira was being beaten down, but he
responded with a beautiful Toka trip, and proceeded to pepper Oni with palm blows to the head.
Oni rebounded, hitting Akira with a clothesline which  sent his head into the back of the cage. That was our first near KO, with Akira rising at eight.  Oni then floor Akira with a power bomb for a 6 count. Akira got up and took the fight back to Oni, hitting him with a flurry of  kicks.  Akira locked on a clawhold but, instead of trying to get the submission, ran Oni's head into the cage, getting a five count.  Oni got up, and the two just stood in mid-ring, exchanging blows. Akira staggered Oni and
went for a thrust kick.  Oni ducked and landed the pattented Neck Wrecker and let Nogawa count...

The Great Oni beat Akira Wan-Pai with the Neck Wrecker in 0:11:34.

Alexander "The Grater" vs West Bronco w/ Extinct

Grater would have prefered facing off against Doomsday, but West Bronco (and the world title match) kept on getting in his way.  Tonight was a chance for Grater to show what he does to hired
punks.
Well, 30 seconds into the match, Grater had Bronco in position for the Doomsday Tornado, but West escaped and fled the ring, yelling at Extinct "You want me to beat THAT!?!"  Well, Exinct did and for the next few minutes, Grater dominated Bronco.  Extinct finally got involved, distracting Grater, allowing Bronco to get the advantage with a beautiful bulldog, then a near fall with a DDT.  Bronco took control, with plenty of help from Extinct...until Grater powerbombed Bronco out of a Frankensteiner.
Grater  then went for the Doomsday Tornado but was distracted by Extinct, who was clotheslined but threw Bronco a pair of knucks.  Bronco hit Grater, but only got a two count.  Bronco went for his Tombstone, but Grater was too heavy.  A short lariat by Bronco nearly did it, but not quite.  Grater kicked out and, after nailing Bronco with a clothesline, again started mounting an offense.
Exinct then became very blatant with his interference, jumping on Grater's back.  Well, Grater heaved him off, Gorrila pressed him out of the ring, and Bronco right on top of him.  An unfortunate ending to a match which was better than many expected.

Alexander "The Grater" defeated West Bronco by disqualification in 0:16:28.

Iron Man Match with Managers Banned From Ringside: "Jackhammer" Andrew Marshall vs "Daredevil" Ron Grayson

EIGHT MONTHS LATER!!!! What a pop when these two came out.  This may have been the most eagerly anticipated match of this year's Crash Carnival, as these two young guns battle to prove who's the top dog.
The match started slowly enought, with each man feeling out his opponent. But it got ugly fast
after a couple of slaps were exchanged.  The two started exchanging big move after big move.  The momentum seemed to have switched when Grayson missed a spin wheel kick PLANCHA, but he rebounded quickly by putting Marshall through a table with a flying headbutt.  A blocked cross-body was reversed beautifully into a De-Facer by Marshall,  but it was too close to the ropes.  A Jackhammer also didn't get the job done.  Grayson hit a Frankensteiner and a springboard splash, but only got a two count.  Marshall hit a spinning powerbomb and a stomach breaker...two count.
Then, in attempting a reverse clothesline, Grayson countered with a back suplex.  He
climed to the top and landed a Shooting Star legdrop

x Grayson beat Marshall via the Shooting Star Legdrop in 0:14:05

Marshall was bit groggy for the next few minutes, and Grayson didn't let up. But when Grayson fell on the top turnbuckle, Marshall hit a flying powerslam. Grayson was staggered and got nailed.

x Marshall beat Grayson via a reverse clothesline in 0:20:00

Grayson got up and Marshall dominated but got floored by a spin wheel kick. Then, suddenly...

x Grayson beat Marshall via a springboard splash in 0:22:45

Marshall was down for the next few minutes, but he was less hurt than Grayson thought...Grayson went for the Shooting Star legdrop again...but missed.  An inverted powerbomb was the setup for...

x Marshall beat Grayson via the De-Facer in 0:25:24

Well, they were tied at two, with four minutes left.  I don't know where Grayson got his reserve to kick out after the next few minutes, but he did. Then, Marshall hit a German suplex and it looked like he had Grayson pinned. He did.  But...

x Double Pinfall at 28:57

Right after that, the big announcement.  ONE MINUTE REMAINING.  And what minute it was.  No fancy flying moves, no big power shots...just fast and furious counterwrestling.  Grayson had a rolling cradle on Marshall, but  Marshall rolled through...ONE...TWO.....DING!!!!

x time limit expired in 0:30:00

Ron Grayson drew Andrew Marshall:
Rating: ****1/4

Both men were obviously dissapointed.  But what nobody expected to see was the two of them
SHAKING HANDS after the match.  Apparently, eight months was enough.
BUT WHAT A BOUT!!!

Mask vs Monkey - No Countouts, No Disqualifications: King Rasta w/ Bobby the Monkey  vs Skarzz w/Saul Masters

No finese.  No pretty moves.  These two were out for blood.  Rasta had his best friend on the line against the FACE of Skarzz.  And it was all high-impact. Skarzz lifted Rasta for a Gorilla press in the first minute, but Rasta quickly rebounded with a flying bulldog.  A beer bottle was introduced at five minutes and bloodied both men badly.  On the outside, Bobby the Monkey kept attacking Saul Masters, who could never catch the little guy.  Rasta hit Skarzz with a Dread Lock Drop on the floor and looked to be dominating. Skarzz took a swing at Rasta with Masters' steel handled whip, but Rasta grabbed it and took Skarzz down.  Rasta then climbed up to the top for another Dread Lock Drop...but Saul Masters pushed Rasta from the
top...right into the arms of Skarzz, who hit the Skarring...

Skarzz pinned King Rasta with the Skarring in 0:13:49.
Rating: ***1/2

Now, as to the pre-match stipulation, Bobby the Monkey belongs to Saul Masters...Bobby ran to Rasta, who hugged him tightly, telling him it would be okay, tears in his eyes.
Well, it wasn't.  Skarzz creamed Rasta with a chair and grabbed Bobby by the neck, shoving him into a box Masters had prepared.
It was a heartbreaking moment for Rasta...but I'm sure this feud isn't over.

Television Title, 2 out of 3 Falls: "The Rebel" Jerry Kent (c) vs "Cruncher" Jack Slade w/ Jessica Haggar

All about respect as old school fought new school in what would go down as a true classic.  It was Jack Slade fighting for respect, Jerry Kent fighting to prove he was still valid force in wrestling.  And what a clash of styles.
Kent hit Slade with classic moves like Russian legsweeps, bulldogs and abdominal stretches, while Slade fought back with Stunners, reverse DDTs and power bombs.  Each man had studied the other and countered moves accordingly.
Kent saw Slade up on top, about to hit a flying cross body, and ducked.  Kent went for a lariat, but Slade ducked.  He hooked on a sleeper and held on tight.

x Slade beat Kent via a sleeperhold in 0:13:31

Kent woke up, and this very even match continued.  Kent locked on an abdominal stretch, which Slade was trapped in for about a minute.  Slade hooked on a figure-four and almost got the win with that.  Jack then gave the sign for the Spiked DDT, but Kent backdroped Slade and dropped him with the Reb-Driver and went for the pin...

x Kent beat Slade via the Reb-driver in 0:25:48

The match really got vicious at that point.  Both men proved they could brawl as well as wrestle, trading punches and kicks as all submissions moves went out the window quickly.   However, one errant punch caught the referee in the head, knocking him down.  Kent saw this, looked down for half a second, and got caught in a Spiked DDT...but there was NO REFEREE.
A reverse DDT was too close to the ropes.  And the groggy ref made two VERY slow two
counts after a Stunner and a crucifix.
Slade then went for a power bomb, but Kent FLIPPED out of it and caught Slade in another Reb-Driver...

x Kent beat Slade via the Reb-driver in 0:32:09

Jerry Kent beat Jack Slade 2 falls to 1:

THE BEST MATCH IN CRASH CARNIVAL HISTORY!!!! WOW!!!

Many expected Kent to taunt Slade after the match, but he just left the ring calmly.  Slade, in the meantime, sat in the ring looking like somebody had just died.  This was a huge match for him, but it just did not go his way. It should be interesting to see where he goes from here, and if he can recover.

The Four Way Crash for the World Tag Team Titles: The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine (c) w/ Extinct  vs Los Viajeros Dos Mil vs The Dream Team vs The Super Powers

Well, this one was necessary.  The SMWA tag teams have been at each other's throats for MONTHS now, so having the four top teams face off in one match was the only way to force a solution.  What a great idea...what a match.
Los Viajeros dazzled with their high flying Lucha antics.  The PXM were at their powerful, hardcore best.  The Dream Team mixed hardcore with great mat wrestling.  And the Super Powers gave us the most thrilling match of their lives.  Tag team action at it's best.
Los Viajeros were the first to go.  They were doing a beatiful job of double teaming the
Dream Team and managed to hit the Crono flipper.  However, before BC-2000 could move out of the way of IS-2000's moonsault, he clutched his knee and, instead of landing on Pete McKee, IS-2000 landed on his partner. Rod Emerson helped his partner up, cleared IS-2000 from the ring and hit BC-2000 with the Dream Killer.

x McKee pinned BC-2000 after the Dream Killer in 0:08:28.

The remaining teams fought a beautifully brutal match, no team gaining a  distinct advantage.  It became obvious that the only way people would be eliminated was if they made mistakes.  That's what Rod Emerson did.  He charged into the corner against Gunloc, who moved out of the way and tagged Biff.  The two hit the I.C.B.M.....

x Slamkovich pinned Emerson after the I.C.B.M. in 16:45

The two teams left?  The Super Powers vs The Philadelphia X-Treme Machine.
These two have wanted each other forever, and now there were no distractions. Biff and Crash started off, exchanging power moves and and a couple of high spots for good measure.  Burnz reversed a Tombstone and went for his 3rd Degree, which missed.  Biff went for his Hammer Splash, but was shoved off of the turnbuckly by Battle.
The two then proceeded to beat Biff until he got the tag to an eager Gunloc, who REALLY hates the PXM.  He tore into both of them but got into trouble when he was distracted by Extinct.  The PXM took control for a bit, but then it went back to the Powers.  The whole rest of the match
was back and forth.
Eventually, the whole ring filled up.  Biff and Crash paired off, as did Battle and Gunloc. Biff was tossed from the ring, and the PXM set Gunloc up for the Philly Back Breaker...but Biff shoved Burnz off the top turnbuckle.  Gunloc then slithered down the back of Battle...

x Gunloc beat Battle after a sunset flip in 0:33:27.

(The Super Powers won the SMWA World Tag Team Titles)

After months of internal turmoil, the Powers were finally back on top of the tag team division.

A brief stop in the back to talk to Zangief.

"Hillsman, you've inzulted my family.  You've inzulted my country.  You've inzulted me.  And verst of all, you've inzulted my mum.  I've never hated anozer man as much as I hate you right now.  Tonight, I'm taking more from you zan ze North American Title -- I'm taking you down for good!"

Falls-Count-Anywhere Match for the North American Title:"The All-American" Chad Hillsman (c) vs "The Siberian Bear Crusher" Zangief

Well, not that there was any tension in this match.  Hillsman had only mocked Zangiefs country and his now-dead mother, while Zangief had only nearly ripped Hillman's leg off when he threw him through a car window.  No tension here.
Hillsman came to this bout limping, but deadly.  He was ready to go and get the big Russian out of the SMWA.  Zangief wanted Chad dead.
After two minutes in the ring, the match spilled to the outside.  Zangief took control of Chad's limited mobility and hit him with anything that was not nailed down.  A broom handle, a video camera, about five different chairs. Zangief had carried Hillsman to the concessions area backstage and power bombed him through a table.  Hillsman didn't have any offense till he found a fire extinguisher on the wall and hosed Zangief down...then BEAT HIM DOWN.
The match from then on was equal.  Zangief threw Hillsman into walls, while Chad used anything that was not nailed down.  At one point, he took Zangief's face into the food stand, burning him on the hot dog roller.  This woke Zangief up, and Hillsman began a getaway run up a flight of stairs.  It
was at this point that Hillsman stopped, turned around and hit a flying forearm that took both men DOWN THE STAIRS!!!
For about 30 seconds, neither man moved and the ref was checking to make sure they were both okay. Hillsman got up and threw Zangief into the escalator, the sharp metal cutting Zangief's already scarred back.  The escalator carried both men to the second  floor, where Hillsman took control.  He started using his wresting accumen, hitting Zangief with power move after power move.  Then, the Stars & Bars was done on the CONCRETE FLOOR.  Hillsman went for the pin.
    1...
    2....
    Thr....KICKOUT!!!!
WTF!!!  ZANGIEF KICKED OUT!!!  And as he did, the force of the kick out sent Hillsman rolling down the stairs a second time.  Zangief then carried Hillsman back into the ring.
The action continued and Hillsman somehow managed to lift Zangief up for another Stars & Bars, but his leg gave way.  Zangief hit the Siberian Bear Crusher....

Zangief pinned Chad Hillsman with the Siberian Bear Crusher in 0:15:55.

(Zangief won the SMWA North American Title)

Well, if any match could come close to Slade vs Kent, it was this one.  Match of the Year should be a fun vote.
Zangief had finally taken his pound of flesh from Hillsman.  Hopefully, this feud can be put to rest.

    Now, the BIG ONE!!!

First, Extinct and Doomsday gave an interview backstage.

"It all comes down to this, doesn't it, Mike?  You've been hiding behind cronies, you've been protected by the administration, and you've ducked this monster at every turn.  But tonight, it's Armageddon.  Haggar, your illustrious career is shortly coming to a violent end."

In a seperate dressing room, Haggar gave his address.

"It wasn't enough for you to terrorize me, was it, Extinct.  You and your monster had to try and destroy my opponets, my friends...and you even had the balls to try and attack my daughter.  THAT made this way too personal, pal.  I don't know what an Armageddon match is, and frankly I don't care.  Whatever it involves, I can promise you one thing -- tonight, your reign of terror comes to an end.  Armageddon...not for me, Extinct...Not for me...

Armageddon Match for the SMWA World Title: Mike Haggar (c) w/ Jessica Haggar vs Doomsday w/ Extinct

Nobody knew what the Armageddon match was until Extinct said "get the cage", which was our first hint.  The cage was covered, with only one door.  But that wasn't all.  Extinct brought out two steel armlets connected by a steel cable.  He told Haggar "put this on", and Haggar and Doomsday attached the steel pieces to their wrists.
So, Mike Haggar was locked in a cage with Doomsday and was attached by the wrist...OH BOY!!!  There's a dangerous idea.
As soon as the cage door closed, Doomsday jumped Haggar.  He choked him with the cable, bashed him with the steel armpiece and whipping him with the cable.  Haggar was beaten and bloodied for the first five minutes of this match...and he couldn't get out if he had wanted to.  So, he did all he could...HE FOUGHT BACK!!!
Haggar tore into Doomsday with a viciousness we've never seen before. Clotheslines, powerslams, punches and kicks...nothing would keep Doomsday down long enough to be pinned.  But Haggar kept at it. He tore right into Doomsday, felling him with a lariat from the top rope and
then giving the sign for the Screwdriver.  The move connected and Haggar went for the pin...
    One.....KICKOUT!!!!
The Screwdriver had done NOTHING!!! Doomsday got back up and began to tear the stunned Haggar apart.  Mike's offense was still there, but it was in brief flurries and didn't seem to be doing much damage.  Doomsday took over with a Death from Above top-rope chokeslam and hit the Armageddon for the pin.
    1...
    2...
    THRE....KICKOUT!!!!
OH MY GOD!!!  Somebody kicked out of the ARMAGEDDON!!!!  Unbelievable!!! Even Doomsday looked stunned (or as stunned as he could possibly look).
Doomsday kept it up but could not beat Haggar.  The tide turned when, while attempting an avalance, Haggar backdropped Doomsday HEAD FIRST into the steel pole keeping the cage up...and thus came the comeback.
Haggar took the stunned Doomsday from one side of the cage to another, beat him relentlessly with the piece of steel attached to his wrist and hit a beautiful power bomb.  Haggar then wrapped the steel cable around Doomsday's throat and, while choking him, starting banging his head relentlessly into the cage.  Haggar smashed Doomsday's head so hard that Doomsday's green hood
became dark with blood.  Doomsday was dazed.  Haggar saw his chance.  A Screwdriver drove Doomsday to the mat...

(Mike Haggar retained the SMWA World Heavyweight Title)

Doomsday staggered to his feet, but Haggar quickly went through the opening cage door.  Doomsday tugged and pulled, trying to get Haggar back into the ring, but to no avail.  The armlet was unlocked and taken off Haggar's arm, and Doomsday and Extinct were left inside of a locked cage, as Haggar ran off with the key.

The Doomsday Hunters couldn't get it done.  And Mike Haggar once again showed just what a hero he could be.  Doomsday had been beaten...and it was the ICON of the SMWA that did it.

Hizzoner had saved the day...and maybe, just maybe, the SMWA can have a little peace.

But where's the fun in that???
