Tonight....
Two big men wrestle...and the match is GOOD!
Whose side is Ron Grayson on?
Sorting out the tag team scene...and who's not happy.
An attempted Monkey-napping.
Akira takes up video.
Jack Slade steps up.
And is it just me, or does the new Dave Mathews song ROCK!!!
Anybody who's submitted a wrestler, pay attention, there'll be a quiz later.
There's only ONE Monday Night wrestling program worth watching...and you're THERE!!!
To start off the program, Sarge X and Titan Tim Redbury came out to the ring. Upset that Alexander "The Grater" cost his huge charge a match against West Bronco last week, X and Titan challenged The Grater to a match later in the evening. Grater came out and gave his trademark "Damn right!", and the match was signed for later this evening. Wanna see two big men that can go? Keep watching.
First up, though...
Ron Grayson pinned The Actor with the Shooting Star Legdrop in 0:12:35.
****1/4
Well, Ron S. Race has certainly picked up his game since becoming The Actor,
and it showed tonight as he and Grayson rekindled an old feud. What a great
opening match, with lots of brilliant high-flying action and some excellent
counterwrestling. Grayson eventually hit the Shooting Star legdrop and got
the duke. Just as the ref counted three, Clone, The Actor's partner in F-X,
jumped Grayson. And before Extinct, the Doomsday Hunters or anybody could get
to the ring, Grayson's main rival Andrew Marshall pulled F-X off of his
nemesis and then left the ring, slugging Extinct as he went.
Looks like Grayson and Marshall will be watching each other's backs.
There was a commercial break.
SMWA Commissioner Jack McCullough then came out and did what he promised--sorted out the tag team division. He declared that, since The Dream Team, Los Viajeros Dos Mil, SuperStars Inc. and the Tag Champion Philadelphia X-Treme Machine can't stay out of each other's business, he'd let them all fight...in a four corner bout at Crash Carnival. WOW!!!
If anybody doubts that SMWA Tag Team division is the best....well, watch the Crash.
The Super Powers beat Los Dragones when Gunloc pinned Fire Dragon after a
diving headbutt in 0:00:58.
**
Well, as much as Jack McCullough made a good decision, not every team in the
SMWA was happy. The 3 time champion Super Powers blew right through Los
Dragones and then grabbed the mic, challenging any team in the 4 Way Crash to
a match anytime for their spot. Should be interesting to see if anybody steps
up.
King Rasta pinned Blackhook after a German suplex in 0:00:37.
*
King Rasta was lucky to beat Blackhook so fast. Because as soon as the bout started, Saul Masters and Skarzz tried to KIDNAP...or MONKEYNAP Rasta's monkey, Prince Bobby. Rasta destroyed Blackhook and then fought The Sins off, keeping Bobby at his side. Lucky, too.
Jerry Kent pinned The Great Oni after a sunset flip in 0:14:01.
(Jerry Kent retained the SMWA Television Title)
****1/4
Two former WORLD champions fighting for the TV belt. WHAT A MATCH!!! It was like Flair vs Inoki, but with a more suspect ending. Oni seemed to be on his way to the win when, while the ref was distracted, Akira Wan-Pai smashed Oni with a big videocamera. This was Akira's revenge for Oni's trickery on Saturday, when Oni dressed as a cameraman and blinded Akira. Kent got the pin soon after.
Then, Jack Slade came to ringside and, upset that they couldn't finish their TV Title match last SNSM, challenged Kent to a match at Crash Carnival. "And, just so you're comfortable old man, I'll give you something you're familiar with. 2 out of 3 falls."
Kent accepted. And Crash Carnival just keeps getting better.
Alexander "The Grater" pinned Titan Tim Redbury after a waistlock suplex in
0:24:55.
****1/4
Nash, Giant, Kane, take note. Titan, 7'7" 440 lbs, and Grater, 6'7" 345 lbs,
put on a high impact CLASSIC!!! Every move looked like it would cripple a
smaller man, but Titan and Grater kept it coming. And, shockingly, the match
ended cleanly, with Grater finally putting Titan away with a devastating
waistlock suplex. WHAT A MATCH!!!
Highland Hell beat Pain & Agony when Hamish pinned Massochist after
a flying headbutt in 0:12:24.
*1/4
Nitro and Tex have struggled both in won-loss and match quality since getting the boot from the Sins. And Highland Hell proved to Greed and Gluttony "Hey, you beat these guys...we can beat them to." Hamish and Angus have Glutt and Blackhook in their sights.
MAIN EVENT
Andrew Marshall defeated West Bronco by disqualification in 0:09:54.
**1/2
A great match between two of the SMWA young lions was ruined by the interference of the Philadelphia X-Treme Machine, who are still playing SWAT team for Extinct in spite of their Tag Belts. Marshall had Bronco ready to be pinned when Battle and Burnz jumped "Jackhammer". And then, Marshall's foe, Ron Grayson ran to the ring....and pulled the PXM off of Marshall, allowing Marshall to leave the ring with a fleet of referees dragging him away.
The program ended with a yelling match between Extinct and Grayson, as the PXM stood ominously in the background.
