It's Saturday Night. Do You Know Where Your Action Is?

Well, tonight, Jack Slade finally decided enough was enough. Calling out Jerry Kent at the start of the program, Slade noted that the two of them could play all the mind games they wanted, but it still wouldn't settle the issue. So, tonight, Jack Slade challenged Jerry Kent to a "Battle of the Ages", so to speak, and a TV Title shot. SMWA Commisioner Jack McCullough finalized it.

However, since this match was an add on, it would be at the end of the program, which is uncommon for many TV Title Matches. And tonight, the FOX network, which airs SMWA programs, was doing a live special "World's Funniest Lie Detector Tests", which would be hard to bump. But Slade and Kent said they WOULD go at it.

Jean DuPuis and Teknos battled to a draw in 0:15:00.
***1/2

After their double count-out a while back, DuPuis and Teknos decided to have another go at it. After fifteen minutes of great wrestling, the two fought to a draw. They both pleaded for five more minutes, and after their plea for 5 more minutes was declined, the two decided to keep going at it anyway. Officials finally seperated the "match".

The Great Oni pinned Ultimate Spider after a rolling reverse cradle into a bridge in 0:09:20.
**1/2

Spider is showing promise, but against the former World champion Oni, the rookie cruiserweight stood no chance.

Skarzz defeated Big Sexy by disqualification in 0:03:19.
-**3/4

Big Sexy [not Kevin Nash...I named this guy months before Nash came up with the Big Sexy gimmick] was so terrified of Skarzz, he hit him over the head with a chair to get intentionally disqualified. Skarrz, not even feeling it, hit the Skarring and left the ring.

Grant Redstone defeated Kenji Hashimuto by countout in 0:11:04.
***1/2
Grant Redstone suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 2 cards.

Redstone, a youngster who's making good with his limitless talent took on Hashimuto, a kid who hasn't yet hit his stride. While Hashimuto confused Redstone with martial arts, his mistake came when he went to the outside. Redstone grabbed Kenji and dropped him on to the guardrail back first with the Redstone Suplex. Redstone, however, was slow to make it back into the ring. He had hit his elbow hard on the concrete while preforming this move, and will be out a couple of cards.

SuperStars Inc. beat The Fallen when Stingray pinned Bub with the Superstar Press in 0:02:30.
3/4*

The Fallen, upset at their lack of tag team respectability, didn't show much to be respected against the high-flying SuperStars. After the loss, Dark Angel berated B.L.Z. Bub.

Akira Wan-Pai made Strohm Mason submit to a stomach claw in 0:12:35.
-1/4*

Akira was dominating when a cameraman made his way down to the ring in mid match. As Akira was pinning Mason after a Tetzuzanko back shot, the cameraman jumped into the ring for a closeup which was a bit too extreme. Distracted, Akira confronted the cameraman, and then was jumped by Mason from behind. Akira locked on a stomach claw and got the easy submission. Then, the cameraman sprayed Akira with a mouthful of pink mist, revealing that he was The Great Oni. Oni did a number on Akira, then he fled the ring. Akira got up and, blinded, started lashing out at the officials who tried to help him out. After about five minutes of hitting anything that came near, Akira regained his sight and found his way out of the ring.

Greed & Gluttony beat Pain & Agony when Glutt pinned Nitro after the Glutt Crush in 0:18:30.
DUD

Let's keep these teams from wrestling, no matter how much they dislike each other. Blackhook and Glutt scored another win over the ex-Sins when, out of nowhere, Hamish Mactavish and Angus Wallace attacked the two Sins. It was a violent brawl which took officials quite some time to separate. Hamish and Angus are apparently upset that the Sins got themselves DQed against Highland Hell a few weeks ago.

Johnny Proton pinned Quasar after a flying forearm in 0:11:06.
***3/4

Young Cruiserweight Johnny Proton continues his rise to the top with another exciting effort. But Quasar proves himself more and more capable every day.

Doomsday pinned Charles Slayer with the Armageddon in 0:07:26.
-1/2*

It was the original main event of the evening. Charles Slayer was going to get revenge for the vicious beating the Doomsday Hunters laid out on him after his loss to World Champion Mike Haggar. as he went up against Doomsday himself, Slayer put forth a great effort, but could not overcome the big man, who was in no real danger.

After Doomsday had won, West Bronco and Ron Grayson entered the ring and proceeded to beat Slayer down, redemption for their early exits at Slayer's hands in the TV Title battle royal a few weeks ago on Massacre.

Extinct then grabbed the microphone and gave a sermon about "knowing your place in the pecking order", and made a point to centre out not only Charles Slayer's "TV Title Blunder", but Grayson's actions this Monday, when he stood by Mike Haggar at Massacre to keep Doomsday from getting to Andrew Marshall, his rival. Grayson tried to defend his actions, but Extinct brought up the pecking order again and silenced him, though Grayson looked none too happy.

Well, at this point, the time was 7:51 PM, with minutes to go before the live FOX special. The TV Title match would be TV time remaining. And with two marathon men like Slade and Kent, the only result could be.

Jack Slade and Jerry Kent battled to a TV time limit draw in 0:06:37.
**3/4
(Jerry Kent retained the SMWA Television Title)

Slade and Kent are both used to twenty minute, classic matches and couldn't get it done in under seven minutes. Distractions like the Teknos/DuPuis brawl, the Akira/Oni as cameraman incident, Highland Hell's assault on Greed and Gluttony and Extinct's sermon on the Doomsday Hunter "pecking order" cut too much into TV time.

There will be another time for Kent and Slade...
