Lighthouses Built By The Coast Guard

Most lighthouses built by the federal government were built by the Lighthouse Service. Only a few were built by the Coast Guard as by this time most new lights, even at manned stations, were beacon lights not true lighthouses. In addition to the lighthouses listed here, there were seven Texas Tower lighthouses built by the Coast Guard between 1961 and 1967.
