The nWo makes their way for their customary opening interview. Hogan wants a piece of Bret Hart at Souled Out to show him nobody messes with the nWo. Scott Hall does his usual survey, of course chalking up another win for the bad guys. Then he takes a second survery: who things he can beat Sting? Hogan flips out as Hall declares he's using the title shot he won at World War III to face Sting at Souled Out! Hogan says that's not part of the plan to get Hogan "his" belt back. Nash says the plans have changed. nWo bickering ensues with Bischoff trying to play mediator as we go to a commercial...

Back from the commercials, Disco Inferno makes his way out for a match with Goldberg clearly not wanting to be there.

Bill Goldberg defeated Disco Inferno by countout in 0:03:29.
Rating: * 1/2

Goldberg goes to 20-0 but not in the way he wanted to. Disco takes his first good opportunity to run away. Goldberg waits for the 10 count to maintain his streak then takes off after Disco.

Gene Okerlund interviews Eddie Guerrero in the back. Okerlund wants to know where Eddie was last week. Guerrero says he defended his title at Starrcade and didn't feel like defending again the next night on Nitro. He's the champion and he'll defend his title when he feels like it.

Harlem Heat and Ernest Miller cut a promo before their match. Stevie Ray is back from his injury at the hands of Vandenberg's goon squad. Harlem Heat want a match with Mortis and Wrath at Souled Out. Miller wants to finish business with Glacier, but he's impatient and wants a match next week on Nitro.

Dean Malenko runs in to help Benoit but the numbers just aren't in their favor.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) defeated
Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) when S. Steiner pinned Grunge with the Steiner Screwdriver in 0:05:23.
Rating: * 1/2
(The Steiner Brothers retained the WCW World Tag Team Titles.)

Scott Steiner gets a mic after the match. He talks about how awesome the Steiners are and how no team in WCW can touch them. Scott says the Steiners don't need Ted Dibiase anymore and fires him as the team's manager. This catches Rick Steiner and Dibiase by surprise. Scott tells Dibiase to get lost and ends up arguing with Rick all the way to the back.

Buff Bagwell, Vincent, Curt Hennig, Ric Rude, Randy Savage, and Miss Elizabeth come out for the next match. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, The Giant, Davey Boy Smith, and Jim Neidhart all come out to face them. Problem is the match is only 3-on-3. JJ Dillon comes and sends everyone not actually involved in the match to the back, citing the DQ finish last week and the inability of Arn Anderson and Ric Rude to stop fighting each other.

Rating: 3/4*
[Syxx interfered against Diamond Dallas Page.]
Scott Hall suffered a neck injury. He will be out for approximately 9 cards.

Despite their earlier bickering, the nWo seemed to be on the same page for this match. DDP got kicked in the head by Syxx then Jackknifed. The bell doesn't end the fighting however. Bret and Hogan end up brawling up the entranceway. Sting sends Hall into the corner and hits a Stinger Splash but Hall didn't seem to be properly posistion to take the move right and goes down in a heap in the corner clutching his neck. Sting goes to save DDP from Nash and Syxx as the announcers call for help for Hall who seems to be legitimately injured.
